Can't buy Gravenberch. Would cost 50m plus, won't join us, is a Raiola client, and will join Juve, Bayern, Barca or Madrid in a few years.

Bissouma a more realistic option.
So we don't go for him because one day he might go somewhere bigger??

Not only does our board lack ambition, we as fans are shot of it too.

How about having Bale as back up CF/RW, and then buying Buendia. Solves the creativity concern from replacing Eriksen you mentioned earlier.
I'd flog Moura and Lamela to buy Buendia and maybe Olise. I agree on the back up forward as well, if Bale stays and we have Son as well do we really need one with a progressive coach that doesn't need a target man? Scarlett can get Europa minutes if needs be. If we're in the dreaded Euro conference i wouldn't include any first team players at all.

Oh I forgot to add we also need to replace Llorente well basically the backup ST.

Yeah I agree it worries me , We need to sign 4 players for next season. I don't trust our board of doing that.

They'll say there's no money even if we can just sell a lot of deadwood. We need to do good in this window.
The problem with the backup st is finding someone good enough but is prepared to sit on the bench 90% of the time .

We don't have unlimited budget. We have Skipp coming back to compete with Hojbjerg for DM position. We do not need a third player competing for that spot when we urgently need a RB & CB.

If you think Winks is as good as Hojbjerg, you don't have a clue, sorry to say it.
A decent centre mid who can hold on to the ball and find a pass is just as urgent imo.

I think that would actually help take the focus off our defence as we wouldn't continually be giving the ball away and soaking up pressure.

Eriksen -We did sign replacements. We signed Ndombele and Lo Celso at a cost of over 100m. Neither of whom are any good playing as a creative mid.

Vertonghen - We paid 40m for Sanchez; who should be our main CB now. After a fantastic first season, It seems that poor coaching has resulted in him going backwards.

So yes, Levy did make players available at significant cost; however it seems the players we got haven't really worked out. Is this a failure of our scouts (poor player, bad culture fit) or our coach (inability to get best out of player)
It's not poor coaching but that he got figured out.

The more games you play, the more the opposition know about your strength and weaknesses, and act accordingly.

My expectations are so low I would take:
Out - Aurier, Davies, Doherty, Lucas, Sissoko and Winks
In - Aaron’s, Skipp, Olise + two other championship talents

it’s the outs that are critical as much as the ins

This is the general feeling around the club now isn't it.

All of my spurs friends see the club as 'same old spurs' and now we've reached a mountain peak before being forced back down to reality. Levy has had a lot of luck in the success of modric, berbatov, bale, kane and alli.

I wonder if there's something to be said for whether a player is worth more money if they're a "diamond in the rough" surrounded by an incomplete, weak squad. It gives us a better negotiation position as the club is heavily reliant on that one player.
