I’m not convinced Andersen is the right move either. I’d rather have either of the Burnley centre backs over him.

Edit: they just got spanked four nil by Leeds......maybe not!

You'd be hard pressed to do one for Toby.
Being objective mate there was a fairly lengthy period he went through a shite patch too, and you could easily have made a compilation which supported the idea that he was finished at the very top level.

Fortunately he has turned it around this season and is back to a very good standard.

This shit is hillarous how do you lose Chris Woods he's huge. Its a no from me. This bloke makes Dunk look like VVD.
I think if it happens maybe once in a game, you don't dwell on it too much. But when you add the goal and the way he gets on the wrong side of Vydra in another incident, you start to wonder what's going on upstairs. If a Tottenham player does 3 things like that in a game, we are probably saying they are not PL standard. It's just food for thought.

If we sign anyone without a new manager it is a joke and shows Levy thinks he i a judge of talent.

Maybe we have an agreement in place but that seems way to organised and these things usually leak. We should not be signing anyone before a new manager, at least not someone who is meant to be in the first team squad

Yes, I am sure I could do a job on almost any player. What I try to do is identify areas of weakness (the media will take care of the hype). Things I pick up on in a game or in a number of games (I have scrutinized this guy in 6.5 games, beginning with our game against them at their place). I don't do it to be a cunt. Or for laughs. Caveat emptor, etc. What cannot be disputed is that this guy has awful mobility; that's why he lunges in and that's why he likes to wrestle opponents (conceding cheap fouls in the process). Also, if you don't give him time to get his head up, he is not going to do a lot of damage with the ball at his feet.

If we sign this guy, he could be great for us, but I have my doubts. I don't see star quality. And yes, I get things wrong. I thought Dias was ludicrously overhyped before he went to City, for example. I thought he was a backpedalling hoor who lacked mobility and physical strength. Maybe Andersen will be our Dias. Can't wait to find out.
You're doing great work! Cheers, man!

The randomness of it all can make a fan's speculations feel hopeless in the end doesn't it. I mean, Dias turned out to be good. Whereas everyone thought Werner was a locked on instant superstar.

There’s no way we push the button on a signing without the say so of the new guy. None at all.

The top teams right now play with very fluid forward groups that are positionless, they move around constantly so defenders don't know who to mark or where to be. That's how City, Chelsea, Liverpool and even Leicester are playing right now. All the pundits say you have to have a top quality main striker to win, but that is further proof that 99 per cent of pundits talk out of their arse. They don't use their eyes, they just go on "this is how I did it back in the day".
Would argue that if Aguero was still Aguero, he would be more of a CF like he was. You wouldn't see him playing like Jesus has.

Wonder if Tuchel will go for a more pure CF, but right now Giroud is the only option and doesn't fit his style.

Liverpool have been doing this for awhile, but they are due for refreshments. Firmino is certainly not a CF.

I still think there is some truth in that Kane was most effective as out and out striker. Not taking anything away from his ability and stats this year, but I do see the argument of having him have 29 goals and 6 assists and pulling CBs all over the park rather than occupying deep lying playmaking positions.

Anderson seems like a lot of the recent signing we have made, an upgrade (at least looked like that at the time) over the crap we had but really not good enough for the level we supposedly want to be at.

It also fits with us keeping so much mediocrity around like Lamela, Moura, Dier, Sanchez, Aurier.

The sad thing is that I probably want him to come in because I know we won't sign anyone better and he is better than Dier and Sanchez but not even close to the level that we should get.

Even if we signed guys who are not as good now but have the ceiling to get better (Todibo) at least that shows some ambition. Instead we get the low ceiling, meh now guys that make up the majority of the current team.
