No worries. I think Braithwaite was playing on the right in that game. Would probably make more sense trying to teach Gil to play on the right. Wouldn't mind spending some Kane dollars on Madueke. He's looked decent in the CL qualifiers
I think it doesn't make too much sense to get Damsgaard given he prefers LW to RW.

We already have Son at LW, Gil and Sessegnon are LW, Bergwijn prefers LW; we need a RW.

Been hearing this romero deal is close now for over a week now. Did we start negotiations a year ago and are we haggling over 10p?
It's done.

Also, if it's true we're open to selling Davies, that's a real sign Nuno is determined to stick to 4 at the back; as Davies would be solid LCB in a back 3.
The Athletic also reported we were willing to sell Doherty.

Signs are he wants a back 4 where LB attacks and RB defends.

Doc Doc
Have you watched him at club level?
He only scored 2 goals all season which is a bit mediocre.
Yeah, watched him a bit when we were linked with him during the season. Never really had a bad game but struggled to be super effective at LW, always inventive, tidy, hard working but didn't look to have massive attacking potential. Saw him have one or two very good games, but not enough to think he was worth bringing in. His performances for Denmark have changed my mind on him, he's clearly an outstanding talent and looks miles better in a more fluid attacking system and when allowed to roam in central areas. He was the focal point of that for Denmark really, and their performances stalled when he and Dolberg were replaced in a few games.

I don't at all buy into statements that you should never buy a player after a good tournament (Di Maria, Tevez, Mascherano, Gilberto Silva all ended up being quite good after breakout tournament performances). The fact we, and Juventus, were looking at him before this summer enforces that somewhat. On his output this past year, David Silva managed 3, 2, 2 and 4 goals in his seasons with Valencia, I think this is the kind of player we should be looking at Damsgaard to emulate, not goal-scoring wide players. Sampdoria only had more than 48% of possession in 9/38 games last season, it does seem a side unsuited to what he can offer.

Not saying we should definitely go buy him, but he's clearly very good and would be an exciting signing.

Horseshit. People like to give Dier stick, but in reality he's a slightly above average player. Shouldn't be a starter, but he's versatile and he's a good guy to have around if someone is injured and to play against lesser teams.

I used to think that but the last couple of seasons have changed my mind. He’s rarely out of position but he has these moments where he just stands there and lets the ball roll past or float over him for an easy goal. He just can’t be trusted against any level of opponent.

Didn’t he and Nuno have a falling out?
Don't believe so. Where did you read otherwise?

Very interesting, cheers.
From what you're saying he seems exciting, but is he a player we need right now? We have Lo Celso and Ndombele who are creative attacking mids, and we have many who can play LW.
Surely our priority should be a goalscoring RW?

Thought I remembered someone on here talking about it
