Daamsgard looked better than Maddison, but HG may make us look here for players, not him though. Our midfield composition is fine but one key/binding player, a young Modric, someone like that would bring goals through the team more, allow us to camp up on teams.

Pray we get this summer right.

He once played at RWB vs Man City and absolutely destroyed Sterling with his defensive work. Every time Sterling would get the ball he would use his strength and pace to stop him.

I did not see that game so maybe he has it in him and chooses not to use it. I have seen plenty of Wolves games he has played in and not once seen him be even competent in defense let alone good.

As for simple passes you would think if he could make them he would do it more often.

I checked with sofascore.com, and Traore has higher completed passes per game, and higher pass accuracy, than Gareth Bale in the PL last year.

Because I have seen him play on the field. Stats don't tell the whole story.

I have watched Traore run the field and fuck up simple passes all the time. He has repeatedly shown he can't make those simple passes. He is useless.

His dribbling skills are very overrated as well.

Okay so his dribbling skills are overrated despite him being by far #1 in PL in terms of completed dribbles, and he can't make simple passes despite him having higher completed passes and pass accuracy than Bale?

His dribbling is overrated because he often runs himself into trouble or out of space. He is also is limited in his non-straightforward ability. If you think he is a better passer than Bale go ahead. There is a reason he is not valued by other clubs and struggled to keep a starting job at Wolves.

He is a guy that does a lot of individual things well but is not able to string them together to make him an effective footballer. At his age and experience he has had enough time to put it together but has repeatedly shown that his dribbling rarely leads to anything and when it is time to finish off his moves he rarely does.

It's a big gamble, but if it pays off this could be a masterstroke of a transfer. Imaging him just dribbling past the whole opposition and then squaring it to Sonny to finish,

I don't see it as a gamble because he won't dribble past those defenders or square a pass.

I know you don't think he is a better passer (or assume it as you have shown to be an intelligent poster) than Bale I was using it to show that stats alone don't tell the whole picture. I have yet to see Traore be able to consistently make simple passes at the end of his runs.

His simple passes are okay, the issue is his crossing is pretty bad, and he doesn't have the technical ability to be good at shooting either.
When Jimenez was fully fit, in the 19/20 season, he got 9 assists. Struggled this season, but I think that's partly due to no good finisher at Wolves.
I have a gut feeling the combo of him and Son will be tough to deal with despite his limitations.
