You'd be wrong.

Before RA arrived, Chelsea were facing insolvency. If reports are to be believed, they were hours away from it.

They have never been in Liverpool's league and, take the regular £200M+ cash injections from their owner, they'd never be able to compete for the highest honours. No honours, massively depleted fanbase. They were on a par with West Ham, insofar as their following was concerned, pre Abramovic and the CL appearances/wins his cash afforded them.

Liverpool have become far more frugal of late, since their current owners took over really. They've spent what they've earned, with the Coutinho money spent very wisely and giving them just what they needed to win them the PL and CL. Before that, they were pretty poorly run, but they have a revenue stream afforded to them by a very large and, frankly, fanatical fanbase that isn't limited to just Liverpool. It's like putting on that Red shirt turns you into a raving lunatic!

But Chelsea would dance around the mid table without RA or a similar Billionaire, IMO that is, they simply do not have that hardcore fanbase. Once they start disappearing from CL, the gloryhunters they're inundated with will jump ship, the sponsors will do the same and their revenue drops even further.

Wouldn't all that be wonderful hey?
Chelsea are West Ham with money. It was ever thus.

I think we’ve done ok this transfer window. Normally we do all our business at the end but here we have
1. great replacement for Lloris if he leaves on a free at the end of the season
2. the best cb in Serie A last year at a cheaper price than Woolwich bought Ben White. There are lots of great CB’s in Italy so this a great achievement.
3. what looks to be a great young winger in Gil
4. Sonny signed a contract that takes him basically to the end of his career
5. Skipp and Sessegnon Being like 2 new signings for the squad

On the other side we have lost
A. Lamela. I loved Lamela but he never played enough minutes to justify his talent
B. Hart. Any tears?
C. Bale. I was happy he was here but an expensive loan signing who may or may not have been using us
D. Foyth. Any tears?

Putting aside Kane and whether he stays or goes, this has been a solid window so far. If we can sign a couple more good players at key positions and get rid of some of the players who dont want to be here (Sissoko, Aurier, maybe Ndombele?) then I think even for the anti-ENIC brigade it will be hard to complain / whine (at least until our first loss)

Anyone else just feeling really down this week

No progress in incomings (from what we've heard at least)
and the constant stuff with Kane

Its just beating me down.

Certainly hard to be chipper if not down necessarily..

We are in a bit of a downward cycle and have possibly hit our low point already. Maybe not.

Kane's likely departure is hopefully more symbolic than indicative of where we are heading..

Admin Admin - A whole load more puerile goading for your 'Clutter' thread (and whadya know; the two un-sanctioned 'yin' to my previously sin-binned 'yang' are at it again). 👍

As per previous advice:

.....Perhaps you can 'ignore' me on their behalf if I'm that much a troublesome presence for them?
Oh for Heavans sake, man.

Lighten up a little! Nobody's abused or insulted you.

A scandelous, disgraceful, cowardly dereliction of duty towards our football team that we're still paying for today, and will be paying for for years to come.

That so many of our own fans at the time at best failed to condemn it, and at worst actively supported it, still sends a shiver up my spine to this very day.
That's because you live in the past Joan - if you can't get over a bad transfer window three years ago - then maybe you need therapy?

Just accept it was a feck up - then be glad we've now had three very positive transfer windows since - positive thinking might get rid of those nasty shivers.

Or you can just keep posting anti club rant after rant - whatever you prefer.

hows it been solid we are effectively the same thereabouts as last season, winks sissoko doherty etc are all still here, we havent signed an efficient striker to cover kane leaving, and we are going into our first match with generally the same team as last year.

The business we have done so far as been great but I maintain it will all be for nothing if we fail to bring in another top quality CB and RB, two positions that, imo, we are desperate to strengthen.

I don't want us going for another Sanchez type CB, we need another top tier CB.

If we want to get back into the top four then CB and RB are a priority imo, we also need a creative mid.

If we have Winks/Sissoko playing in our PL side for an entire season we are in deep trouble.
