We're not bringing in Emerson unless we sell Aurier... ffs

Why do you think that? It's only 20m for a 22 year old who almost certainly won't get a starting place - this is another development signing, probably go straight out on loan if it can be arranged ....

Aurier is a 3.6m wages cost if he sits on his arse and does nothing all season ... he's not a deal breaker if Emerson is genuinely a prospect we can sign.

If we end up with Royal our defense is going to be solid as a rock for several years to come.

HOW?!?!

We have 1 decent CB...hopefully. As he has not started EPL game yet.
Don't forget Sanzhez and Dier antics throughout years.

Right now we just play with 3 CDMs.
Whenever we either play someone who is more attacking minded or give someone free pass to go forward, the cracks will re-appear.

Sanchez literally lacks some very basic skills CB should have. May I remind last season City game and Gundogan?

You’re wrong, there’s no chance Emerson would go out on loan if we sign him.
22yo is not a mere ‘development’ signing, he’d be competing with Tanganga for RB spot on first team.

I follow Juventus. I am not understanding why they would move Weston. He was one of their top midfielders most of last season and is very young.
Totally agree, they exercised their option to buy very early they liked him so much ... the only thing I can think off is that as they agreed to pay for Weston over three years, selling him to us would clear those payments, and make them a huge profit .... maybe it is just money?

You need four centre backs we have Dier, Sanchez, Rondon, Romero plus Tanganga and Davies .... all have at least five years left in the EPL before they reach 31.

Whilst signing Dias, VVD or Varane would almost certainly be a big step unless you want to risk 50m on a player like Ben White, who is there under 25 who is truly guaranteed to be that much better?

We are not short of quantity.
We are short of quality there.

If one asks that "who is there truly guaranteed to be much better than Sanchez" then I would believe there could be tens of CBs better than him. He has proven to be inconsistent, phyisically weak, have poor balance and often fails to read the flight of the ball. Also he's never looked really commanding as CB, more like awkward. Plus his passing ability is sub-bar- though not primary issue I have with him, more that on top of fundamental things his distribution is weak as well.

So yea, there is quantity and there is youth. But department feels short of quality still.
