Because when people criticize him they aren't talking about whether he's good on the ball or not. They're criticizing the fact he gave more penalties away than any other Barcelona player in 20/21, or his clumsy own goals, or the losses of concentration which enabled a player to peel off him and score. Again, you can't judge a CB by stats. He may win most of his tackles, aerial duels & progress the ball well but if he gives away goals then it's a killer.

This isn't just a fan opinion thing, he's been dropped by Barcelona despite them not having particularly prodigious center backs. This is a chance for him to rescue his career & we've given it to him because of a lack of available LCB's on the market. I think there's a high chance of him being a success within this system if he can clear his head. Obviously at Barca at some point he suffered a loss of confidence and hasn't mentally recovered.
Nahhh not buying it. People aren’t saying “here’s a centreback out of confidence who’s elite on the ball but who can give away too many penalties”. That would be a reasonable take.

They’re saying he’s shit, that he’s underwhelming etc without highlighting what he is world class at.

Of course he’s out of sorts but Barcelona have a Uruguay and Spain starting centrebacks who are 23 and 21. The best young pairing in the world who could play for them for a decade. And they will get better… lenglet clearly has more limited room for growth.

Good to hear you say you think there’s a high chance he could be a success. I agree.

You're just one of many that claim to not trust these journalists, but yet when these journalists all said that Rich and Bissouma transfers had reached agreement, you all spoke about him as if he was going to join, even before official confirmation.

(.......And what's all the "you don't bet" waffle all about? )

Come on, mate.... I went through this same conflab with you last summer.

What are you trying to prove?

I just guage the over-all noise surrounding certain deals and assess how much momentum a story has..... All taken with a big pinch of salt until a very late stage regardless of what individual ITK/media or whoever are saying.

If you wanna believe in any individual such as Romano as some kind of transfer guru then you be you. No need to hump my leg over it.....
