I think we're going to need a bit more than a TalkSport link before I believe we're actively trying to move on Doherty.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind it really if we got a proper bid. He's 30 and minus a decent run of 5 or so games, he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire. Emerson is still so young, only 23. He came in under Nuno, had to deal with the formation switch which most impacted his position, and then finally had a great run of form at the end of the season. He could continue to progress under Conte's coaching.
His end product was quite poor for us, but it really wasn't that bad in Spain. In his two seasons at Betis he had 5 goals and 10 assists, which is pretty solid for a young 20/21 year old fullback in a top league. Better than Reguilon did at Sevilla. He also seems like a lad who has the right attitude and mindset and is well liked by the team.
If we could get our money back, I'd probably take it, but he's not a guy I'd be rushing to sell for a significant loss. He's young and has potential.
