Nah that's some Woolwich delusion right there, guy hasn't stepped foot in the CL yet, way to early to be saying that despite how good his potential might be.
So you’re Not a top player if you haven’t played in the CL. Plenty of crap players played in the CL.
Djimi Traore has a winners medal and he is possibly the worst left back Liverpool have ever had.

Spurs closing on Spence signing

Tottenham are very close to agreeing a deal with Middlesbrough for defender Djed Spence.
Final negotiations are ongoing over an initial fee of £12.5million rising to a potential total in the region of £20m if add-ons are met.

From article:

"Tottenham are on the verge of a total agreement with Middlesbrough to sign the England Under-21 right-back Djed Spence, The Athletic understands.

Negotiations between Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, his Middlesbrough counterpart Steve Gibson and the player's representative Scott Smith — whose relationship with both men helped smooth the process — are believed to have produced a breakthrough and the transfer is on the cusp of being done.

If all goes to plan a medical is expected to take place in the next 48 hours."

...I wish I could say I'm more excited by this than I am.

Perfect for #2, but he'll need to prove phenomenal for us to tick the box for us this season.

Spence has exceptional potential. His dribbling is already great, and hopefully he can develop end product with coaching and age.

He is a bit of a risk, so perhaps there's an argument to keep both Doherty & Emerson? We'll have 5 WBs after selling Reguilon, which may be ideal strength in depth needed.

Still hoping (in vain perhaps) that one more leaves and we bag someone of pedigree for the right.

5 WBs seems right, IMO. Perisic can also fill in as a Winger, Doherty can cover both sides too. It gives Conte the most flexibility to deal with four competitions.
