Why would we want to? He still scores world-class goals and wins games.
there must be a better younger option.

he got 11 goals for us but a lot of them were against the weaker sides.

1 vs Brighton
2 vs Burnley
2 vs Palace
1 vs Southampton
3 vs Sheff United
2 vs Leicester

He was a great player, can't get near the Madrid 11 now. we as a fanbase are such piners for the past.

That'll change.... Reckon if I scoured these pages long enough; I'll find you contradicting that, but ok that's your current take.

Again, based on anything other than your imagination and the fact that you'd like that to happen?

LOL..... You said 130m in your last post..... It's creeping up already... Much like the size of your wants list will between now and September.

I see, so essentially BAD value is the way fwd?
Not bad value. One overpriced top player is not bad value if everyone at the club is behind the signing (bar the BTEC accountant)

I genuinely don’t understand why people use this as a negative thing. We can only play the teams in front of us and yes some of them will be weaker. Surely having another player that can do the business against weaker sides is a good thing as it gives us the chance to rest key players more often.

Putting the goals aside, he’s just a quality player on the ball and come and play keep ball if we are winning

Lucas has 9 over the last 3 seasons but we still base our view on Amsterdam, you mean?

If we're talking swapping out Lucas for Bale, so long as Bale is fit enough for 20-30 minute cameos here and there, it's a no brainer. Especially with CL potentially happening. Lucas is a great spur, but I think the difference between Dejan and Lucas makes it clear we need a different kind of player on the right side.

Not sure where Lauturo fits, for that money, unless Kane is leaving.

As a front 3, this seems okay:

Dejan/Bale --- Kane/Berg - Son/Gil

Obviously, if we can find a way to upgrade Bergwin for a more true 9, you do it. But he's shown the potential to do really well there. You'd have to hope Gil is ready, otherwise we're one short depth wise. Where eriksen might come in, but he's not usually played as a lw, more as a rw.

Focus needs to be on wing backs, LCB, and midfield.

Stefan de Vrij has request from Tottenham

The 30-year-old defender has been a long-term target for Spurs as well as a number of Premier League teams, but he could finally find his way to England this summer.

Inter Live have reported that the Dutch centre-back will not sign a new contract at Inter, and has a request from Spurs about discussing a deal with the club. Conte had a good relationship with de Vrij when he coached at Inter, and could reunite with the star this summer.

Inter defender Stefan de Vrij and his agent Mino Raiola are ready to talk about a possible contract extension, but right now the player’s focus is on finishing the season in the best way.

This according to the Dutchman’s lawyer Sebastien Ledure, who spoke about the Dutchman’s situation to FCInterNews, and also detailed the 30-year-old’s case against former agency Sports Entertainment Group.
