A lot of posters pencilling in Carrasco as RW (Kulusevski cover ) or as RWB - but from what I has see he's played about 80% of his matches as LW or LWB.

Its good that he's versatile, but are we sure he can be a regular starting RWB, for example if he's rarely played there - I'm sure great as covering RWB from time to time but regular starter ?
I don't think it's much of an issue, as both he and Perisic can play comfortably on either flank.
Back in the day, it used to be fairly common to have wingers swap flanks to unsettle the FB if they were getting too comfortable with a certain player. With both Perisic and Carrasco being 2 footed, it then presents both FB's with a problem, which side do they show them? Show them inside and they can shoot, show them outside they can cross, and both do it very well.

At the moment, Royal is doing a very competent job, but we're not really stretching defences as his crossing isn't top drawer, and he's not particularly prolific with his shooting either.

Carrasco would really stretch defences when coupled with Perisic.

I really hope this comes to fruition, as I feel his addition would be massive for us, and at 28 we could get a good 4-5 years out of him.

I know he has played every game but there were lots of talk a few weeks ago royal still could be sold if a decent bid came in and athletico were linked with him so maybe something with a swap with him and Carrasco. Just maybe

It looks like there may be legs in the deal after all👀

Having read the thread and responses from the source denying the deal it appears from AM fans that the club is on debt and in need of funds.
