FWIW, Gvardiol was subbed off at the half in RB Leipzig's 1-2 loss @ Union Berlin and didn't start in the next (most recent) match vs Werder Bremen.

In their match prior to WB, Gvardiol was subbed on to start the second half and RB Leipzig ultimately ended up drawing Köln 2-2 b/c of a Gvardiol OG.

AFAIK, he's stil recovering/nursing a knee injury from last season and isn't capable of 90mins yet.

The common take hasn't been the same as the RWB situ. Not at all.

Perhaps it will be proven un-wise in time; but that's more something to take umbrage with the club over rather than mere fans..... Afterall it's not like they have the influence to insist that we take said strategy.

Disagree. And 'everyone' obviously wasn't meant to be taken literally. Just like when I say 'everyone' was saying Sterling would flop I don't actually mean every single person on this entire forum or everyone who supports Tottenham.

The state of some people moaning does make you cringe , doesn’t it?
Definitely. I couldn’t go through the full show as it just got too negative for my liking and you can tell the agenda behind their “truths (ENIC/Levy must go, etc).

I swear had the scum not started well with easy games, it would be a lesser issue.

Four games in, three wins and a draw away to the chavs, and that’s somehow still not good enough?

Extremely frustrating that nothing seems to have changed at Chelsea despite Roman going. They are still being subsided to a totally unrealistic level in their spending.

I’m happy what we’ve done this summer, but one game-changing CB could have been the difference between really achieving something and just being there or there abouts.

Bet Gvardiol is a massive flop and all the obsession in here will be conveniently forgotten.

Also, if he's really good, they still won't score enough

You’re loving Chelsea continuously signing top class, next level signings which allow them to continuously win trophies?

I am physically sick at the level of players Chelsea are continuously able to obtain.
Koulibaly Fofana and Gvardiol in one window is absolutely nauseating.
LOL.

Fofana is a fine player but £80 Million or whatever is taking the piss.

I saw it so often. This was not a rare take. Loads of posters who pride themselves on being rational & calm were saying it was right we didn't spend big on a CB as the options were not available, same as with right back.

Well one is definitively not happening now & waiting around for a player who really doesn't seem remotely interested in leaving Inter Milan doesn't really scream top tier strategy.
So which quality RWB was transferred and/or available this summer window that would have improved Spurs? Can you mention just one?
It was commonly agreed that there was a lack of quality RWB in general which was the problem, not just the lack of quality available. I’d say that only 3 EPL clubs (Man. City, Chelski, Liverpool) have RWB that I believe would considerably improve Spurs – and none of them would join Spurs. The only other RBW that was strongly considered as “worthy”, Tino Livramento, is out with a long-term injury, and relatively unproven.
Even clubs like Man Utd and Barca are struggling to find proper a RB/RBW.
Regarding LCB: Spurs did try for both Gvardiol and Bastoni, but without luck. Bastoni did not want to leave Inter and it was common knowledge that if Chelski would come in for Gvardiol then Spurs would be blown out of the water money-wise. The other candidates simply weren’t worth the risk.

LOL.

Fofana is a fine payer but £80 Million or whatever is taking the piss.

Not only that but off the back of a career threatening injury too.

Desperation because they missed out on Kounde. Who's a lot better than Fofana, but still not without his negatives.

Put it this way, I'd have been very disappointed if we let Romero go back to Atalanta and we decided to splash a world record fee on Fofana instead.

So the Chavs are going for Gvardiol and we’re sniffing around Dan James.

That’s me for this window.
