We are one of the biggest clubs in the world with the advantage of having the PL broadcast money to make us more financially stable compared to many clubs all over Europe but bringing in a RB better than Doherty and Royal was impossible for us.
It is laughable the lengths losers will go to try and make excuses for how poorly we are run.

Bentancur is slightly better than PEH and Winks; but inconsistent. Sometimes he pulls off ambitious passes, but other times he spends too long pondering on the ball. He needs to realise the PL is played at 100mph.
Kulu has impressed me a lot, he's clearly a very technically gifted footballer. But he's not a goalscorer.
If you're going to bring in someone like him at RW, that's okay by me, but then you need someone like Reece James alongside him. He has best goal/min ratio out of all Chelsea players this season- 5 goals 6 assists.

Let me guess. You would bring in a Championship level RWB on a five month contract and then buy a world class guy in Summer. Is that the way it works in Football Manager? It’s not like we’ll have a marginal upgrade sitting on a 4 or 5 year contract that will be considered deadwood by this forum come May.
Bentacur and Kulu with someone like Lazzari and Guimaeres would have been great. I know people will cry that bringing in 4 guys is too much but it really shouldn't be if we have ambition.
We make those moves and we have a player that can help breakdown a Burnley team- Guimaeres, have a RWB that could have made a difference in any of our 1 goal losses.
It doesn't address the lack of goals from the MF or on the bench but I don't want people crying about me talking about scenario's where we improve our club by, gasp, spending a few pounds.

No one buys many players in the winter, particularly very impactful players, because clubs do not want to sell impactful players mid-season. Its really not that hard to understand. The degree of difficulty for signing players is higher in the winter, the available player pool is much smaller, and the window is much shorter. FFS, its just plainly not difficult to fucking understand.
Villa just brought in 3 players that impacted their team.
Everton brought in 3 players to impact their team, plus Alli who they may have thought would but we know how crap he is so I won't count him.
Newcastle brought in 5 players.
So just this window we have 3 clubs in the PL that all brought in more players than us. Not as hard as you are trying to make it out to be.

I think in an ideal world that would happen but just can't see it. Way too many areas that need addressing versus LWB. Reggie/Sess aren't ideal but we need Cbx2, MFx2, RWB x2 and a striker more than replacing either of them.
I doubt we bring in a better player than Reguilon for the 40m we would get from Madrid, even if we weren't worried about addressing the other areas.

As for the players that Everton brought in, you might have missed this but we actually sold them one of them because he’s not good enough for a Top 7 club let alone a Top 4 club.
Banging on about the number of players that Villa and Newcastle brought in doesn’t change the fact that the vast majority of them, arguably all of them, aren’t good enough to get in a CL chasing club.
I get that you make a dozen quality signings for January on your play station but the real world is a little different— and very different for people with seven- or eight-figure investments in football clubs.

Trippier was sold would have been a big upgrade for us and helped with set pieces that is a problem.
Mazaouri is out of contract at the end of the year so likely could have been bought.

Yes exactly three teams below us with less appeal and financial room were able to bring guys in. It should have been easier for a club like us to do it.

Coutinho, Trippier, Guimaeres, Digne all easily walk into our side. Chris Wood adds much needed goals to help when we are done and to give Kane/Son a rest.
Plus the argument is that teams don't bring in that many players which I clearly showed that they do.
