I don’t know if we could. Also he’s homegrown. He would be the best Hg player we could get.
There isn't a wide player on the planet we could realistically acquire who would be better than Sterling .. he's top 10 in his role easily.

I agree with NB that he's the best HG player that is on the market; but not sure he's in the top 10 RW in the world.
His stats are good (although not as good as a few years ago), but could it be inflated by the fact he has unbelievable supply for City? He makes so many stupid mistakes on the ball, and can also make horror misses in key moments.

I do think he'd be a slight upgrade on Kulu; but perhaps we could spend that money better on RWB and LWB.

If I had the choice of Jesus and Sterling, I'd take Jesus.

Can play up top and wide where he has been flourishing recently. So he can actually cover Kane unlike Sterling.

He is also younger and has better dribbling and link up play - he's been difficult to play against since he returned to the first team. He will also be cheaper because he's not English.

OK.
I haven't really been watching City this season-why do you think RS has had these long barren runs of no goals? Has he been assisting?

He's got 12 league goals so not too shabby .. not many assists this season but he usually puts up solid numbers in that regard. His City career has stalled a bit, he was sensational from 2018-2020 but has dropped off a bit.

Quite a lot of City players struggle to put up massive numbers atm because Pep rotates the frontline so often.

What he did at the Euros for me shows he's not a player who is totally service reliant. He's able to make things happen because he has pace, is a great dribbler and is aggressive when in possession. I honestly think he's one of the most underrated players in the league, go shit on all Euros despite being England's best player throughout.

Yes he misses some sitters & can be frustrating, but he's absolutely one of the top wide players in the world.

But this isn't what I saw of him at the Euros. There were a few moments where he completed successful dribbles, but he was mostly anonymous all game before popping up and scoring relatively simple tap ins (partly because Kane was being double marked and he was free).

We were watching a different tournament then. He was our most active, threatening player the entire time. Vs Denmark, Croatia & Germany he was so damn lively, always running at the defence and making things happen. He was the one who scored the match winners, he was the one winning the penalty vs Denmark etc etc.

Never anonymous. Always the most ever present player we had, and was a shoe in for player of the tournament had England won the final.

Would like us to get Martinez from inter. We need to start thinking life after kane. And we've needed a 2nd striker for last 8 years. That cornet from Burnley as well as a 3rd choice striker as well if they go down.

The pen won vs Denmark was a dive lol, but yeah fair points.
He certainly wasn't anonymous, on the ball a lot, but it felt so frustrating. The majority of the time he would make a brainless decision and give the ball away or run into a crowd.

Won't have to worry about Chelsea much longer. If they're being bought by Americans, they will cease to pose a threat. Probably introduce cheerleaders and timeouts....
Maybe they might even introduce civility and decency and supporters would no longer need to be separated like animals that can't control themselves...you know, the way they do it in the US.

this would be you going to work everyday...

That's the trade off with Sterling ... he's one of the most frustrating players out there. But he practically carried us on his back offensively in the Euros so I'll always have a soft spot for him .. and for a couple of seasons at City he was ridiculously good.

Spurs already have a better player in his position - Son.
I know Son can play on the right but that will make him less effective even though he's good with his left foot.
Besides, Sterling's on £300,000 a week.
But why do you think he is so "realistic"? How do you know that Man City would sell him to Spurs or that he even wants to come to Spurs?

I disagree Sterling is less effective on the right. In fact I think he's more so, he just rarely plays there because it's Foden/Mahrez's preferred side.

I actually don't think it's realistic, it won't happen. Wages too high and I don't think City would want to lose a top English player who gets double figures from a wide position every season. Was just raised by others, mainly due to the Woolwich links.

We should be all over Kalvin Phillips is Leeds go down.

Kalvin Phillips Release Clause Revealed Amid Manchester United Interest

Kalvin Phillips' release clause at Leeds United and the scenario needed to activate it have been revealed amid interest from Manchester United, according to a report.
Phillips is currently at Leeds United and has been at the club since his youth days, coming through the Academy during the clubs time in the Championship.
United have been linked with Phillips for a number of weeks as the club looks toward a new holding midfielder.
It had been revealed in the last week that a handful of Leeds players would be available for a lower fee.

Now, however, according to a report from Mail Sport, "Kalvin Phillips [Linked with Manchester United] has a £25m release clause in the event Leeds United get relegated."

Phillips would be seen as a bargain for a fee as low as that when compared to United's other midfield targets who would be priced above £50million.
