We need mature wing backs with a lot of composure for Contés system. Can't be too old since they need to be very athletic and fast, but that composure is critical in a system that doesn't command a majority of possession, and doesn't rely on high pressing.

Our wing backs have lacked that composure, with the exception of Doherty, and at times sessegnon.

But he's been played as a winger. I dont think he's ever played full back/wing back. He looks a decent trier but is he really champions league quality? Having said that i'm not sure what quality wingbacks are out there.
But as I said when he was linked by Mike McGrath it was to play as a wingback.

Not my first choice for the left that would be Maehle, hasn't worked at Atalanta with the manager not trusting him, Denmark coach is baffled

Would be perfect for us

Mæhle is a terrific player, and one we should definately look at.

Overall though we could do with even more mature wingbacks.

And if we are to play CL, we need a full 4 of them, no excuses.

Mæhle is never gonna work.....

Can't be expected to type that funky letter all the damn time. :disdain:

Johnson scores for Forest and Gibbs-White for SU. These 2 look good prospects to me.
Assists by Surridge and Berge who both looked good in the 1st leg.

Gibbs-White is on loan from Wolves. Berge was sold to SU about 2 years ago - lots of PL clubs, including Spurs had a look at him, but nobody went for him.

Sam Surridge was at Bournemouth, under Eddie Howe, and went on loan a few times but never showed enough. Move to Notts Forest under Cooper in January and he's done better but ihe's only played about 17 times for them so at best we'd loan him back.

Johnson is the only cert on that list imo

Sounds like what we've all been saying.

Kulu/lucas---kane/forward---Son/Gil?

Where does Sarr fit in? I'm surprised Rodon wasn't singled out to leave (assuming any of this is true).
