What do you think?
dier and davies far too weak. cucurella is a slight upgrade on what we have imo from the limited time ive had to watch him. not sure who the RWB is but before doherty got injured he was actually vital to the conte system, so looking forward to having him back to be honest. bisouma is a decent player but is he disciplined enough to play that position in this system?

think dier, davies and LWB positions are the priority to strengthen, then get the CM done and we are looking pretty decent indeed. hopefully sarr is a good addition, will be an upgrade on winks at the very least im sure.

I have no issues with Dier. I wonder what is our goals against per game since Conte took over. If I had to guess, probably top 3-4 in the EPL. I actually like Dier.

You put a left footed LCB with similar qualities as Romero together with better wingbacks and I think we would have a top top defence.

dont think you can have a top top defence if dier is part of the makeup. hes probably the best of a bad bunch (davies, sanchez, rodon) but hes still not good enough if we are being real. probably decent as backup but as a first 11 for a team that wants to compete with the elite, no chance.

Since Conte took over, we have conceded 24 goals in 27 matches, compared to 18 for Mancity, 17 for Liverpool, and 28 for Chelsea.

Our defence is one tier below the elite clubs. A better LCB together with improved play from our wingbacks (and a healthy Skipp)… would put us close to or matching City and Liverpool.

I think Dier is great if he is together with Romero and another top CB.

dier is too much of a liability imo, can get skinned or fooled far too easy (brighton game). also his passing isnt as good as it needs to be, he takes so long on the ball, thats fine if your resulting pass is going to be of top quality and his never is.

For me priorities are:
1. RWB...sell either Doherty or Emerson, they’re both poor.
2. Creative CM/AM with goals/assists in him. Eriksen or Gundogan type. Sell Winks.
3. Legitimate back up striker.
4. LCB...sell Sanchez or Rodon if he’s never playing.

People seem to forget that this is a World Cup team - and a mid season one at that. Whilst they may not miss fixtures; there will be one eye on the tournament and avoiding injury - as well as those who progress having an extended break into Jan.

Romero has shown in the past that he prioritises country over club.

England have a genuine chance of winning and, it may be Kane's last world cup.

Who won't be going to the world cup - Kulusevski, Winks, Dier (?), Sessegnon, Ndombelly, Sanchez, Tanganga, Skipp.....Maybe Gil, Royal, Reggie won't get picked too.

Decent. Not quite sure about Maehle, haven't seen enough of his defending.

For me it goes:

-------------------------------Lloris----------------------------------
???------Romero-------Dier--------Bastoni-------Cucurella
-------------------Skipp------Bisouma-----------------------
Eriksen------------------Kane-------------------------Son

I think Eriksen is still better than Kulu in some scenarios. If we're exepcting to defend a lot, I'd pick Kulu, but if it's agains the likes of Burnley, I'm banking on a Eriksen screamer.

I get why Terrier might have found his way onto a "list" of players who can cover CF and also play as wide forwards, but he shouldn't be too high on that list. He's a decent sort, works hard, has had a good season at Rennes, has some technical ability, decent brain and is pretty composed, but he's got no great burst of pace, and can't dribble past anyone. As a false 9/CF he could do a job, but he's pretty ordinary as a wide forward - and would look it even more in the PL.

Miles behind people like Leao or Nkunku on that list.
True, but maybe not so much behind "realistic" Spurs targets. I would really like Leao but I can't see him leave AC Milan, and if he did then he'd be very costly. Real Madrid are said to be after him.
He cost AC Milan only €23 million back in 2019...

We should go all in for Cucurrella, for sure. He's been incredible, and he would do wonders in a Conte system. Angelino is the backup plan, but I don't think he's as promising as Cucurrella, even though whenever I've watched him, he has impressed me.

RWB is a bit trickier, however someone like Maehle can definitely do a job there.

LCB we have options. Pau Torres seems the most gettable one, with players like Bastoni and Laporte being harder, but not impossible to get. I'd avoid Gvardiol, I don't think he is what we need to compete with that next level (Chelsea, Liverpool, City).

If we are able to land Eriksen and Bale on a free, that would also do wonders for us, since it wouldn't mean that Kane has to drop deep so often to create chances, and would also allow Conte to play 3-5-2 as well, in games when we can't play a 3-4-3.

CM is the trickiest position to get right. Bissouma is the complete package, however I don't know if he is cleared of his charges yet (if he isn't, stay away from him, being a good human is more important than being a good footballer). A very outside chance might be Gundogan, according to the latest rumours City are looking to move on from him, and he's head and shoulders above any of our midfielders, as much as I love Bentancur, PEH and Skipp. Kalvin Phillips is a great option if Leeds go down (however on a personal note I hope they stay up, and Burnley go down).

If something unexpected like Lucas leaving happens, we should go all in for Sterling to replace him. He's probably one of the most underrated footballers in Premier League history.

On a final note, this summer is just as important to get rid of the final deadwood. Winks should be gone without a shadow of a doubt. Reguilon is appreciated in Spain, so we should take advantage of that and move him on, because Sessegnon is going nowhere (and as mentioned, we're also looking for a LWB). Bergwijn is as good as gone, same can be said for CCV as well. As much as I love Rodon and growing fond of Emerson, they also have to go for their own careers. Emerson will be a great RB in a Cholo system for example, but he just doesn't have the skillset to be a RWB. Rodon is being wasted here, I can see him excelling somewhere like Palace or Southampton. If I'm not mistaken, Potter was very keen on signing him for Brighton in january.

If we beat Norwich, I expect this summer to be the great summer that we should've had in 2019. Levy has learned his lesson, and we don't have Hitchen anymore to throw money at shit or N'obodies.

A genuine DM would be good too. Bissouma ideally but seems unlikely.
Conte doesn't use "genuine" DM - he needs "all-rounders". Bissouma would fit that "label" anyway, but unless he soon (ideally long before the transfer window ends) gets cleared of the rape charges hanging over him I can't see it happen.
Thing is since Brighton are playing him it looks as if he will be cleared - unlike the situation with Greenwood.
