Close though….. the amount that lot blow on wages and lumpy transfer fees I keep wondering where the bottom of this cash pit lies.

Is it 250m in 2 seasons ? Have they got yet another 100m this summer ? Because I don’t see where they’re going to generate anything substantial in player sales

It's really not though. As per swiss ramble their total revenue has been comfortably below ours for several seasons now, including when we failed to get CL football.

They've spending big for a long time and it's been catching up to them. Which is why they sent out practically their entire depth on loan, and paid off Ozil, Aubameyang and others to fuck off, to at least save a couple mil on wages.

They can afford a £50m signing, but the rest have to be like Lokonga, Tavares, Cedric Souares etc. cheap/free, and not very highly rated.

Certainly not without Champions League football.

They have positions all over the pitch they need to improve. Blowing £76m on a forward who many or may not fit into the Premier League is terrible business.

He's 34, he's not a long-term option.

But he's a lot better than Hart/Gollini so for the 5 games he plays next season at least it won't feel like we've got a competition winner in there.

We don't need back up striker, we had Vini, Janssen, Llorente, Soldado.... and the likes, didn't work.
We need a striker to compete for first team place, we are in 4 competitions next season, we need decent players not bench warmers.

Fine with Forster, HG - league cup and FA Cup keeper - decent shot stopper.

Spence worries me a bit, he's quite raw, it seems clear we need to insert 2/3 WC players into our first 11 and LWB & RWB are priority.

We should be looking at a Hakimi level player ( I appreciate not him because he's uttainable) but that kinda level. World class.

The Bastoni link is exciting but and without doubt an upgrade, only thing is Ben Davies has been absolutely fantastic.


for me we need 3 first team-for sure - Bastoni, LWB & RWB

that's gotta be the priority.

then back up GK - Forster
CM to rotate with Skipp/Hojbjerg/Bentancur (Laimer/Bissouma/Philipps)
Forward - either wide or central (Jesus/David/Memphis/Sterling)

Eriksen seems like a total no-brainer to me. Still performing at a high level in this league, knows Conte and his methods, knows the club and would likely accept a rotation role. On a free transfer, this is the perfect squad player.

Spence as the RWB target is a bit underwhelming, raw but I guess home grown, but I feel we should be aiming bigger tbh. Also Forest could come up? you'd presume he'd rather give it a go there.
