I would guess it depends on the struture of the other deals. Leaving it open keeps options. Funds for transfers that are only possible as direct buys due to willingness of the buyer, but if there are options for any loan-to-buys we could still free up the loan spot by triggering the option, if it is possible at any time during the window..

He also seemed to lack composure overall, he seemed to be their main attacking threat but was pretty rash with his decisions and shooting.

It was a final, so in fairness to him I imagine the occasion played a part but overall I didn't come away thinking he was a sign at all costs type of player.

If the intention was to rotate between him, and Sessengnon then I think it would be a fantastic signing for a comparatively cheap fee.

Stats compared to someone like TAA suggests that he crosses in volume, and his accuracy is slight lower as a result. He doesn't seem to make any other type of passes in the opposition half much. TAA is making more than 3x as many long passes and chipped passes than him per game.

His chance creation seems to be comparable regardless of all that.

His passing in his own half is very accurate, which suggests he's not one to screw up a basic pass under no pressure, like say Winks or Dier. His passing accuracy in the opposition half is shocking, maybe he tries to corss first and misses... I don't know.

The defensive stats are also well below TAA, who isn't exactly considered a defensive star.

Would take perisic over him tbh, assuming injury not an issue

Normally it's a 3-4-1-2 when Conte was there with Eriksen in the 2nd season. The midfielders have like levels. So when Inter were defending or on the transition, Eriksen would drop down to CM, Barrella would drop to CDM, and Brozovic would position between the CB. With Inzaghi, Barrella plays a lot further up the pitch, and Calhanoglu plays a little further back than Eriksen did. The WB are still as attacking as ever, Dumfries has scored a great amount of headed goals this season and Perisic is a winger coverted to a wing-back.

Thanks for that.

Essentially Eriksen plays as a CM when defending, but as an AM when in attack etc .with one or two others slightly changing position to react to certain phases of the game. I think that's fine for the player with the right range of skills and who is athletic enough to do it, otherwise for example maybe after a hard run of games the CM doesn't have the stamina to cover both positions well enough.

Cause what concerns actual output - you know, goals which win you games - his only productive spell this season was after Conte arrived when in games nr12-16 he scored 2 goals and assisted 4. Which means his contribution for remainder of 33 games was 0 goals + 3 assists.
