Just thinking that this may put us back in the market for Kounde. If we could get him and Martinez and sprinkle in a couple of other role players we could be in business.

Right , now we're rich bastards bring us Bastoni, Cucurella, Neves and Stirling post haste.
I'd be ecstatic with the first 3, and even though I'm not super high on Sterling, I'd accept that. Would rather use that money on a stud RWB.

Imagine...

Atletico Madrid have turned down the chance to sign Gareth Bale on a free transfer this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The 32-year-old Welshman is set to leave city rivals Real Madrid after a topsy-turvy nine-year stint with the club.
And Spanish radio station Cadena COPE claim the former Tottenham star's services were offered to Atletico Madrid in a meeting between his agents and the Spanish club's sporting director Andrea Berta.

However, the report claims the club's technical director told his representatives - led by the executive chairman of ICM Stellar Sports Jonathan Barnett - that while they appreciated the offer, they did not see him as part of their plans.

It comes with the same outlet adding Bale would like to stay in Madrid if possible, especially because his family appear settled, given that they remained in the Spanish capital during his loan spell back at Spurs in the 2020-21 season.

However, speaking last week, Barnett hinted a decision on Bale's future will depend on whether Wales make their first World Cup for 64 years.

'He leaves Real Madrid, but it all depends on whether Wales qualify, then we will make a decision,' Barnett told Portuguese newspaper Record.

'Is it more likely to return to England? I think so, but we'll have to wait and see if Wales qualify for the World Cup.'

Wales boss Robert Page has named skipper Bale in a 27-man squad for the World Cup play-off final against Scotland or Ukraine in Cardiff on June 5.

The Welshman however will go into the Scotland play-off without much match practice under his belt.

Bale has made just two cameo substitute appearances for Real Madrid since scoring both goals in Wales' 2-1 World Cup play-off victory over Austria on March 24.

The 32-year-old had been absent from Real's last six matchday squads with a back problem.

He trained prior to Madrid's final league game of the season but then complained of the same issue, robbing him of the chance to bid farewell to the home crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu, with whom he has shared a fractious relationship over the years.

It now remains to be seen whether he will be available for Real's Champions League final date with Liverpool on Saturday in Paris.

Sprinkle another 6m-10m from the CCV sale too. Will be interesting to see what the market is like for Lo Celso and other spare parts like Reg, Emerson, and Rodon. Afraid the club won’t be able to rid themselves of Ndombele though.
Thinking conservatively, back of the envelope numbers:

Winks 10m
Berg 20m
Rodon 10m
CCV 6m
Lo Celso 25m
Reg: 15m (very conservative)
Emerson 15m
A little over 100m should be achievable.

hypothetical incoming:
Eriksen free
Perisic free
Bastoni 60m
Milenkovic-Savic 70m
Bowen: 60m
new RWB 40m

Net spend 130m

fair enough. Just some conservative hypothetical numbers. Nkunku might end up at RM though, who knows.

Bowen in reality could be had for less than 60m probably. Also he's homegrown, PL proven and soon to be England international.
