I find the Lenglet thing hard to believe, no way would we move on that quickly from Bastoni and also we’d likely at least have a go at Gvardiol or Torres first. Think we’re just trying to get Bastoni to make a call.
Gvardiol has said he is very happy at Leipzig, Bastoni according to the press wants to remain at Inter, Torres wants to go to Man Utd, so we are just working our way down Paratici's lcb list

"We wish Pierluigi and all the Academy players who are leaving us the very best for the future."

Give them their own tweet and list all their names FFS........ Surely we can afford these young yidos that amount of respect.

........Would have a few seconds of work time for whoever the club's teenage SM-virgin is.

.....Club could have stretched to a "thanks and farewell" mind.

Yup, agreed. I'm not saying that I want Lenglet over either of them. Just that I'm a lot more confident in our plan B or C then i've been in the past.

One nice thing about getting a LCB in on loan is that we could afford to pause on upgrading this position, and just roll with Ben Davies again for next season, instead using the funds and effort to secure equally influential players at other positions. It might be the best idea if our top targets are not available this window. Lenglet as defensive cover for Davies at little-to-no cost to us sounds ok to me, even though I'd of course like it if we brought in a rolls-royce LCB...

Gvardiol is better than Lenglet.
No one (I think) will argue about that but, as mentioned numeral times before, his price will be no less than £60+, maybe closer to £70m.
RB Leipzig has a solid economy and strong ambitions so they have no desire to sell and the player himself has told that he wants to play for them next season.
If there was a guarantee that he would live up to his price tag, yes, then I would be 100 % behind such a deal....but, as we know, there are no such guarantees ..
