Why not just give them both and spend nothing - I don't think Gil will ever do anything of note at Tottenham and he was signed by Nuno not Don Conte.

Gil (like Sarr) was almost certainly signed because of Fab.....

Which is why (despite Conte being less than impressed with the 'kind' of signing the former was*) I expect us to play the long game with both.

(*i.e. Why are Spurs signing players for tomorrow when they need/needed players for today.)

Maybe but Lukaku is Chelsea’s Ndombele now, they are desperate to get him off the books, if he was playing like he was 2-3 years ago they could probably charge double or triple what they asked for.

He has them over a barrel..... If his attitude wasn't "Inters or Splinters"; they'd probably be able to strike a better deal elsewhere.

(Lukaku still has a track record of goals at a decent level...... He's not a completely useless dosser like Ndombele is.)

Slightly unrelated by Foden is so over rated.
That doesn't mean he's a bad player. It just means that the way people talk about him, and the fact he wins these accolades is OTT. He's a decent player, that's about it. Hearing idiot pundits saying "he does things I don't understand" makes me wish they didn't have pundits in football. I don't think he's any more influential than Connor Gallagher or Mason Mount but people don't talk the same way about those two.
I agree.I thought he was poor this year tbh.
Very lucky to win young player of the year

This Mo Salah? if he wants, he can stand up to most players. Which is usually outside the box.

Stirling is a bit of a flake and can be marked out games at times by clever, larger defenders.
Yep, all 3 of Foden, Salah, and Sterling are incredibly lean and strong. None of them are over 160 lbs or 5'9". Size matters, but isn't everything (I keep telling my wife this).

Gil is 5'9" and 132 lbs. according to Google. Would think his EPL chances would greatly improve by adding at least 20 lbs.

I suspect Salah is massively stronger than Foden and Stirling tbh.
By stronger I mean his core. He looks like he can really, really stand his ground. Which is ironic given how fucking easily he hits it when inside the box. Being shorter than your average beast footballer is irrelevent if you have that core strength. Look at Crouch, 6ft 9" but less muscle than a 9 year old boy.

This is not true. Taller people just look leaner as there is more surface area on their limbs to spread out the muscle. I am on the tall side and though I looked really skinny back in the day I could outlift many smaller, thicker players.

That's just biology though. If you have really long limbs you have to have muscle to match it. Everyone can have more than average muscle though. It's just scaled up and down.
And lifting is not the same as core strength. Core strength is being able to stay on your feet when you get clattered shoulder to shoulder. Doesn't make you big, but does make you strong.

What Lies Beneath - SC

believe we can meet this package and are close to this VIA his rep, but have not yet made a formal offer. Conte and Fab still deciding if its him they want or the other 4 they will go for . Woolwich are scrambling been told as there chances of signing him become lesser and lesser the longer this drags. There first offer was derisory and certainly mis informed. There also struggling to close on Jesus ATM for unforeseen circumstances which should be for his thread but thought i would add this here .

Chelsea want Lukaku off the payroll, Inter pleading extreme poverty (big debt problems so Chelsea know that, Lukaku sayinhg he only wants to go to Inter and willing to take a paycut to get it done.

So a £100m+ striker (bought from Inter 12 months ago) on a 5 year contract, so a loan fee of £20m+ is fair, is offloaded for a £7m loan fee.

So the £7m loan fee is not a good market benchmark .....
1 he can only be valued at 60-70m today
2 it’s the wages issue …… finding a loanee that can stump up market value plus pay elite club wages

That market narrows enormously

I think what they got is about right

Might as well lock this thread today anyway - nothing is gonna happen outside of Made to Bayern.
If it does, sky won't fucking notice that's for sure.
