It's not about the 5 million. It's about not being known as a club that will pay anything a club we're dealing with asks. You give in now to a 50% increase in the sale price of the player and next thing you know clubs are quoting you 10%, 20%, 30% more for far more expensive transfer targets. We should be tough to deal with, but also fair to deal with at the same time.

On re-reading, I think you are right. Would have been cleaner to say “Even with Richarlison signing, Spurs are not done today.”
But easy to criticize a guy for whom English isn’t his first language. I read it wrong.
