PSG gave Ben Arfa a contract. There's hope they'll be stupid enough to do it with Ndombele too.

Maybe one time, but now they have Luis Campos as their Fabio Paratici, Luis Campos is the real deal top man in his role, I doubt they would buy him outright straight away, maybe a loan, but they also have Galtier as manager who has that super high energy press style , doubt McDombeles will last a 6 month loan.

So much wrong with this tweet. Let me break it down:

Clermont Foot are demanding a minimum fee of £12M for Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Clermont Foot forward Mohamed Bayo this summer. Not sure why he has to specify that Clermont Foot are demanding a fee for a Clermont Foot forward. Unless they have demanded transfer fees for other teams' players in the past.

Bayo contributed to scoring 22 goals in the 2020/21 campaign to help Clement clinch promotion to Ligue 1. So Bayo helped Clement (Lenglet's first name) clinch promotion to Ligue 1. This guy is just throwing everything in the pot and this is what you get.
Typical you wait years for a Clement then two come along at once...

The only way I could see him doing well is in a team who stick him in a 10 role and then put legs all around him. And even then he won't be nearly productive enough to justify any of that, because his final pass is inconsistent.

Don't know much about Galtier but if he plays the way you say he does, then no chance he even makes that move .. no high press manager will touch him after how he's conducted himself at Spurs.

If he can get his head straight again I don't see why he can't have some decent seasons somewhere. Some upper mid-table-ish club in France or Spain should be interested to build an attack around him on much reduced wages, I would think.

Nothing but a sad waste of both talent and money for now though, unfortunately...

Did Winks play for Seville or Barca or get 15 caps for France (or equivalent) ?

I am not saying Conte can polish everyone. But then, even our Winks had a decent end to the season under Conte.

Conte cannot make a player shine if there is no inherent top class quality. He can make a player better by making instructions simple, repeatable and with some hard work can make it work

By the way , what did I hype about Lenglet

I said his passing stats are world class - even in his worst 20/21 season - thats a fact. Thats not hyping. You can go check it.

I have qualitifed everythign I said about Lenglet with caveat that - Conte can only give him the environment but he has to improve his defensive game-thats up to him only

And its not a risk if its a loan - why is it a risk ? If he is only loan, if he fails, insurance policy kicks in and we dont need to buy him
And when exactly Seville has been a barometer for anything exactly? And hell even Winks has 10 caps for England, so what ?
Who are you trying to convince that Lenglet is somekind of great player, when he never was top level, neither in Seville where he was promising, and not a single season in Barca. And Barca are **** in the market in the last 10 years or so. On top of that, in the last few years, playing for Barca doesn't mean much, looking at how **** they are.

Our guy Sanchez is a regular starter for Colombia, why didn't Conte make him looks like Nesta in his prime ? If it was that easy, no one would have trying to buy top class players, they would just let their manager do the so call "magic".
I can go on and on and on with our backs, with Lo Celso(39 caps for Argentina lol), Ndombele, Tanganga and so on and so on.
As far as defense and our midfielder, if Conte was so happy with them, we wouldn't change 90% of this positions.
While some improve, obviously Conte is world class, we still make kinda a lot of individual mistake, and the passing in some games where the opponent is tight and was pressing, was just straight up s***!

One more thing i wanna mention is. You can help and push a player to a certain degree/level, and that push most of the time not going to last long enough.
The moment his momentum drop, and he is down on his usual level, and maybe even under that, and then the problem starts.

Stats again are showing some stuffs, but are hiding the most important things. They are not barometer, and shouldn't be.
Bastoni and Lenglet are not on the same level.

I got no problem with us getting Lenglet, cause we obviously can't get our main targets, or don't want to overpay(which is 100% right), or for whatever reason, but yeah he is a risk.
Premier League is a different beats, he will have to fit in your formation, totally different style, and way stronger and competent league. With current City, and even Liverpool, 1-2 mistakes and the chase is over.

Lenglet have good passing, no doubt about it, but he is super prone to mistake, his defense is just plain stupid, and he often is out of position, and he ain't a fast defender.
His step up was Barca, and he failed to show that he belongs at that level.
Still saying all that i will judge him fully with our shirts. I will hope to have a decent season with us, and hopeful help us reach our goals. So far my opinion is not high for him, but again when he become our player, my judgment on him will be only with his play for our team.

Really? I remember thinking we could score every time we had a go as their defence was as bad as ours.

One of Barcelona's 3 worst players according to that
yea i thought he was good that game. them ratings are usually done by some clueless mushroom, stopped paying attention to them years ago. the sort of mushroom that gives modric a 6 or 7 most games cos it goes completely over their head what hes actually doing.

i think lenglet could be a good signing, hes going to be protected by the system conte plays. he cant be any worse than dier or davies can he?
