You'll have to link me the article. All the information I've seen on this has shown a clear correlation, obviously not 100% of the time (United..) but teams who invest more generally achieve more. I imagine the top spenders on transfers correlate pretty closely with the top spenders on wages, anyway.

I'll repeat it here for you;

It's the quality of player that counts not the price tag.
I couldn't give a fuck if we spend £10m and sign better players than we currently have.
I'd be super pissed off if we spend £100m and not improve the squad, as has happened previously.

This is the argument I'm putting forward but you keep on twisting it into something else.

Indeed, pretty sure Everton would be near Liverpool by now if it was just about spend if that were the case

There's definitely a correlation between salaries and sporting success and why wouldn't there be? It basically means you can attract the best of everything, doctors, scouts, physios, coaches, recruitment etc..

Us making bad investments doesn't change the fact that spending more correlates with success. Nor should the club be put off from making big investments because we made a couple of poor ones. You don't win trophies with signings in the 15-30m range.

Nah, I made a joke about transfer spending, and like the loyal little pup you are, you jumped on it .. all the while seething that anybody could think this window is anything but perfect. And the other members of the transfer police joined in, because anyone who suggest any player we're signing is anything less than the second coming of Jesus is wrong.

The window has been pretty good, so far.
