I think our transfers and the compatison to squad depth and ability is very relevant in a transfer thread. On a forum which is notorious for off topic discussion and cunt offs, these things here actually are linked.

He is no shrinking voilet hence his loan last season, I'm sure a lot is going on behind the scenes
ordinarily I would tend to agree, but his game was notably different last season. Unless it was the injuries, but I'm not sure it was. He's certainly taken care of himself, but what he gives on the pitch is far more than most and that extra level has probably taken its toll somewhat

It’s the type of game he plays, look at Parker, played the same all action work of 2 men on the pitch, it’s unbelievably difficult to maintain that in your 30’s even early 30’s. If he can’t adapt his game he is done.
Gerrard for example switched to a quarterback type role at Liverpool but he had an immense passing game to allow that.

We had this last week, some people were fawning in here over Chelsea's signings despite not feking signing anyone and the convo got moved over there.
Talk of Kante’s demise is greatly exaggerated. Wishful thinking.
His best performances for Chelsea were probably a bit further forward under Sarri but he has been very consistent. Like Pogba, he’s also consistently banged for France. Played really well against Denmark recently.
The guy is far better technically than his boring run machine reputation suggests. And his anticipation will only get better with age.
He’ll be capable of playing 30-35 games a season at the highest level for another 2/3 years.
Plus he’s a legend who drives a shit car.

Missed out is a bit of a misnomer. Would he have wanted to join us to sit on the bench? With Brentford he will get regular playing time. That's the problem with where we're at right now: we have enough quality across all positions that any such prospect would rather go to a lesser team, where he would be guaranteed minutes. And if we want to sign such players, we'd have to pay them a heck of a lot more than what we would be willing to. So I'm afraid that category of signing may be much more difficult moving forward. We'll either have to get them really young, or when they are established and for a larger fee.

This guy wrote a thesis " Set pieces: the 15-goal striker " ..... basically if you can utilise the set pieces its like signing an additional striker , that many more goals could could equate to circa 10-12 points a season , draws into win and loses in draws , every extra point or % that gets us victory and really actually try to push shitty n varpool, closing that gap, not sure we will really catch them completely but defo close that gap considerably especially when you factor in the player additions on top.

He played 90 minutes against denmark for France start of June. Did he get injured in that?
He’ll probably go to PSG on a fat contract to end his career. Good move for him. Lower intensity and he’ll still be capable of making the difference in 12-15 CL games a season.
