That's not the case, though, is it? It's more like two teams both with world class managers: one with 7 WC players in positions 1-7 and the other with 8 WC players in positions 4-11. I'd take the team with the manager that can get that extra something out of his players and Conte seems to be able to do that moreso than his other world class manager colleagues.
It’s also fair to say that when we play bottom half teams, we have 3-4 world class players and the opposition has none and we need to deal with their intense press or their deep two banks of four.

If we had won all of those games last year we’d have been in the hunt for the title.

Which is the point I made in the very first post: it's the consistency we show in the games outside Pool, City, and Chelsea that will get us close to the title. In the games between us it will be a toss up and we'll all take points off each other, but unless we lose all of them (which we won't), it's in all the other games that the title will be won.

We could easily lose both games to both Pool and City. Just because we did well last season, doesn’t mean we will beat them again. I mean we might, but City particularly have a major cheat code - we will start as underdogs in all four games

"The case"?

It's a rhetorical question.

No. The question is the question.... Answer it or don't.

However, I do see what's going on here.... For the sake of not giving an inch; you're gonna adopt the position that there's only 11 world class players in existence.

(I'm not gonna bicker with you about what WC means; but let's just say yours is a minority view.)

So Klopp (eg) doesn't squeeze the most out of his players?

As someone that IS widely considered to (despite your take), why has Klopp only got one EPL title compared to Pep's 4?

Another question for you..... At the end of 20/21 Tuchel was seen as a minor miracle worker.... Why were they so far off the top the following season?

I've never seen him play and hopefully he's really good but every picture I've seen of him makes me think he's a total pillock! TikTok man..

Players celebrating with scarfs on their head before Tik-tok. :kanehand:

Yes, but how well stocked with quality are we in the RWB position?

We don't have a 6th forward so Lewis-Potter an upgrade.

Assuming we buy Spence we will need to sell either Royal or Doherty as we cannot retain both players due to a shortage of HG players which will limit our squad to 23 players (2 per position plus a 3rd GK) - something that buying the likes of Lewis-Potter (and HG player could help us with.

Bryan Gil.... A players that we chose to farm out on loan rather that (topically) starve him of game-time.

No; we'd be selling one due to there being a finite amount of game-time...... 3 players for 1 position is excessive. Even if we do bag another HG player; we're still most likely only gonna want 2 RBs.

Lewis Potter is a Brentford player now.... He chose game-time rather than splinters on a more prestigious bench. Time to move on.
