True but generally it cost more for elite players and Conte wants them. If they are world class and free like Perisic great but if we have to spend £60m here for Richarlison or £25m for Bissouma etc having lots of money makes that happen.

Couldn't agree more .
That's exactly what's happening now (buying quality players that are available) and still some people are whining and moaning.

agreed. It obviously isn't massively important for Conte, but a de Bruyne type would fit nicely. Bit of power, can press, good vision, forward-thinking and full of running.

Some might say it's a matar of time.

IMHO a few decent not earth shattering games at the end of the season doesnt inspire me with much confidence in Doherty, I would rather keep Emeson who is much better defensively and good in the air tham Doherty and keep perservering with Moura to make the transition.

Conte doesn't do risk, so either Moura proves he can play RWB in remaining friendlies or Conte keeps whichever of Doherty or Royal is best at RW/B next season - but probably upgrade on that player next summer if there are more rwb's available.

Moura is not good at tracking back or defensive work so he has to excel in attack to be considered a rwb
 
I don't believe it to be the case but if we are playing some sort of 4D chess to get Bastoni it would be an incredible coup by Levy/Paratici but again, always have to be wary of players who don't really want to leave the club they're at..

I don't see things changing much tbh....

- The replacement player they wanted is off the menu.
- 50m has been refused re: Skriniar, so us offering the same amount for a diff. player make no difference if their motivation is balancing the books.

The best solution could be. Buy Bastoni this summer but loan him back to Inter for the year so that he can say goodbye for the whole year a get acclimated to moving somewhere else over time.

They might have a more feasible replacement for Bastoni than Skriniar.
