We were pretty fucked when Sugar took over only for his bad business decisions and lack of vision to make it even worse.

He got a goal and assist in his last game playing on the right v Soton, and another 2 assists and goal from right v Watford.

Not according to this:

Maybe not his primary position but has shown recently he can play there, and Chelsea are looking for similar kind of attacking players as us (after all we both wanted Raphinha).

That's a rather tenuous conflation.

Raphina is primarily a RW
Madison is primarily a CAM.

After a lot of chatter about Tottenham talking Milan about Japhet Tanganga, details of the encounter have finally come out.

Gazzetta dello Sport are the ones providing them, explaining that Fabio Paratici called Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara on Thursday to discuss the English centre-back.

The crux of the conversation was ‘how the deal can materialise’, with both sides seemingly agreeing that the ‘total cost is €20m’.

The problem the two sides are encountering, however, are nothing new, as Milan ‘are aiming for a paid loan with the right of redemption’, while Tottenham ‘want the obligation’.

Either way, ‘the dialogue will remain alive in the next few hours’, which can often mean days, but the general consensus is that both sides want a deal done.

On a side note, it’s also added that the names of Sergio Reguilon and Pape Mata Sarr were also discussed, even if they didn’t seem to lead anywhere, as Milan are primarily focused on Charles de Ketelaere these days.

Having developed Tanganga through their academy, this would be pure profit for Spurs, who have already spent heavily on the transfer market so far this summer, with the likes of Richarlison and Djed Spence coming in for hefty fees.

Slightly surprised if JT leaves but if so then his Italian agent has done well for him.
If we sell him and Winks for about £25m combined and that would be an average of about £15m per year for Academy players since 2012.

Am I missing something or is this reckless beyond belief?

So they are selling the future money they will receive from TV deals, to a company that will give them the money now, and I assume the company gets more overall by the end than they are paying in a lump now?

So what do Barcelona do in 3, 4, 5 or 10 years time when they need money for signings and wages but are only receiving 3% of the money that they should be getting for TV because the rest has been handed over to this payday loan company?

Are they essentially just torpedoing their future so that they can scrape by today?
Would be well annoying playing monopoly with Barcelona. Just when you think you've got them on the ropes and they're going to have to start mortgaging their properties next time they land on you, they inform you that they've sold their next 20 "collect 200 for passing go" for money upfront and instead put a hotel on each of their properties :contehandshead:

But how much room for growth do Barca have?

They are already huge in terms of football clubs, one of the top two, and all that they have to show for it is being nearly broke financially.

They are selling their rights to a venture capital company and according to the BBC today, they have just sold another 15% of them raising a total of UP TO 600 million. None has been reported s going towards helping to pay off their huge debts.

They can only sell these rights once, is short term and bordering (to a certain extent) on what Risdale did at Leeds.

I mean if they are not investing in young talent to sell on and make money (which they aren't) then this money is in effect dead, a one time only revenue source.

Unbelievable that the main board would let Laporta do this, but this is Barcelona who have no restrictions enforced by UEFA.

I don't think Spurs would be a PL team today had it not been for Sugar.

That alone gives him a free ride as far as i am concerned. He backed his managers in the transfer market and was pretty much lied to and deceived by Venables throughout his time as manager.

Whether he sanctioned bad deals or not all Chairman do.

I really think we won’t bring anyone else in now unless it’s a hugely opportunistic deal or something falls into our lap. We need to sell players big time rather than bringing people in. It’s probably fair enough given our business but as spurs fans we are used to going deep into the window signing players, so it will be a bit strange for us.

I used to spend a lot of time in the Oak Room around that time. One of the funny stories to come out was when TV replaced the dance floor at Scribes West and sent the bill to Spurs🤣🤣 that said he was Spurs and referred to Woolwich as the scum👍👍
