Conte was pretty quick to distance himself from the Spence deal.
Richarlison suspended for Saturday so we'll have 1 attacking option on the bench if we need a goal and that is Lucas Moura. We need someone because with the season ahead i'd imagine 1 of the front 4 will be out at some point quite a bit.

We were dreadful at RWB last season barring a few good games from Doherty. Even then, he’s extremely limited even when he does occasionally produce.
If RWB continues to be our worst position, we are going to have missed a big opportunity to improve the team considering how important wing backs are to Conte.
RWB is by far the position that concerns me the most (especially if Spence doesn’t see much time) and it’s not like we can use Perisic on the right because Sess isn’t any better than the rest.

.We currently have 3 LWBs, 3 RWBs, 6 CBs, 6 CMs, 6 FWDs..... Potentially we are only missing Skipp for the opening game (see Conte's words today) + Richarlison due to a one match ban.

If we want to win anything (much less challenge for the league) we absolutely have to stop thinking solely about the starting eleven, and talk about squad depth and rotation options.
It isn't clear to me that an attacking midfielder is the highest priority on Conte's list, but it would give us options to change our shape and keep opponents guessing, which would be nice.

Toes are bastards. Many a year ago I injured my toe simply kicking a football (Very poor technique). Pain for weeks due to walking being quite integral.My enthusiasm was sapped right out of me this morning.
Woke up with searing pain in my big toe. Suspect a fracture from running a lot. Now have to contend with a LOT of walking on Saturday with that pain
I get the impression Conte is far more interested in another good CB and an upgrade at RWB. Although this Lenglet deal seems to be a stopgap before a huge bid for Bastoni next summer.
