How did we get to our size and wealth? Has that got anything to do with the owners?

Be careful. I come with stats.
Weren't we one of the original members of the big 5 while Levy was still on the nipple and the 4th most decorated club since the war when he took control?

Seems that some of our newer fans think we have no history pre 2000

Shame, that.

how depressing, perhaps the best time in recent years to be excited and positive as a Spurs fan. But the whining... constant whining and moaning, it's like most people are only on the same team when we're losing and can moan together.

When we need to be united everyone runs separate ways...

WTF is going on?
The only constant whining and moaning I'm seeing is the constant whining and moaning of people whining and moaning about the non existent whining and moaning of others.

Seriously. Some of you need to give your heads a wobble and lighten up a bit ffs

It wasn't really communicated that way at all - all that was said by the club was that 150m share issue was put in place to help the club with transfers and other capital projects, or words to that effect. Nothing was said about it being in addition to existing budget or whatever - for all we know 150m was to allpw us to get signings in without first having to raise cash through sales and any money brought in goes to recouping what was spent.
I get what you are saying. I think I did not phrase it well enough.

But my point was - 150 mil was made available. I mean objective fact is - 150 mil was moved to the club. And if we sell players for transfer fees - those amounts also flow to the club. This is pretty straightforward until this point. Now what this amount is specifically planned for - about that we do not know and I agree with that part.

Well looks like we do want 1 more so guess they cant be overly happy with those options. Just think the amount of top level fixtures and 5 subs changes everything. Guess whoever the incoming is will replace Gil.

Of course any additional strength is not something anyone is gonna complain about. I'm just urging against taking too much of fatalistic view of what we already have.

Son Kane, Kulu w/ Rich, Lucas, Gil (+ Perisic) is fucking decent, man. 👍

Absolutely. He didn’t have to, either. But obviously felt compelled to make the point he was a ..."Club Signing "

:sonhmm:

He didn't have to say "he's happy with the window! or "he hopes to build long term"

in fact weren't you implying he was lying about being happy with the summer transfers?

eh? which is it JT? is Conte lying or not?!!!

End of day we can all agree it's Levy's fault AMIRGHT?!
:contethumb:

Who would he replace in the starting eleven?
I purposefully said first eleven ‘standard’. Not necessarily starting, but giving us the option to setup differently.

I get that Conte might go the 3/4/3 route, but I’m concerned about our options out wide, especially on the right.

When a side is sitting deep, there should be less defensive requirements on the midfield 2. Would be great to have the option to play an aggressive, creative midfielder rather than our more workmanlike (not a criticism) options.

Still, maybe they have Skipp earmarked for that position.

How many windows? 2, 10, 20 :harrylol:

You'll just change the narrative to fit your agenda as things evolve
Nobody knows that. But it’s quite plausible to be over 2 or 3.

Of course if we spend 150m net in that time you’ll ignore wages and complain that we haven’t spent our “normal” transfer budget on top and project how much that should have been.

End result that is guaranteed is that you won’t be happy with our spending under any condition and you’ll use that to bash Levy. It’s GUARANTEED.

Most people see through that.

Like this, you mean :mourshock:

Quite pleased with this signing. The fact we've taken the star player from a club like Everton without fucking around too long over the price tag shows we're finally getting back to where we belong.
Hats off to Mr Levy on this one

Come again, Baby :mourloopy:

So are Everton. A lot of good it did them. Of those 5 clubs, we’ve been 3rd best for the last several years and even competed with United at times. Liverpool clearly is #1 but we finished above them several times under poch. Chelsea and City have passed us due to excessive spending with blood money. Not much we can do about that with the limited impact of FFP.

Nothing worse than always posting to an agenda. So bloody boring.

We might not be chasing Maddison, expensively priced at probably 60 million plus, so that's us being tight.

Not maybe that the player does not convince or tick boxes.

We have bought Spence and Perisic among others but one is either unproven at this level (so was Walker all those years ago) and too young and the other too old, despite obvious quality.

Richarlison isn't good enough and yet there have arguably only been 2 strikers bought by the 2 big guns.

It's absolutely okay in my book to ponder if our buys will improve the team although I think there is little or no doubt they will improve the squad and anything that provides challenge usually raises the bar.

I think it's okay to question what Conte sees in a player or at times to say it would be nice if we could be more expansive in our play or whatever but the narrative from some is so biased and ungiving as to make the points they make difficult to ever see as objective.

I think most on here seem to agree that we need a creative midfielder but not at any cost.

God forbid a manager of Conte's calibre seeing something we can't.

I just think unless:

- Someone was available on a free (Pirlo for Juve)
- He already had someone available prior to joining us (Fabregas at Chelsea)
- Someone was available at a bargain price as an option (Eriksen at Inter Milan)

It's just not something Conte necessarily needs to succeed. You only have to look at the profile of the signings that Conte's championship winning teams have made to see that we're not venturing off a usual Conte course. Hard working, solid and experienced.

Would I like to have that creative option in central midfield? Absolutely. But I am not going to be disappointed if we don't get one. There aren't many out there who would not only be willing to sit on the bench for large parts of the season, but also be good enough for Spurs and also wanted by Conte for a reasonable fee.

I think it's reasonable to have worries over our right side. Emerson has shown to be relatively solid defensively but lacks what we require from a Conte system. Doherty actually showed promise before his injury, he was getting goals and assists as well as creating chances. Not a flashy name and has been disappointing for most of his time here but if he could have a Victor Moses, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian type output for us than I'll take it. I am personally hoping that Spence has the desire and hunger to make that spot his own when given the chance.

What’s going on everyone, hope you’re doing well. I’ve just done a short video breaking down everything you need to know about Destiny Udogie in 3 and a half minutes. This kid is absolute dynamite and while he won’t come into the fold immediately, he could very well be ready for first team action after spending another year at Udinese on loan. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts and am happy to answer any questions you may have in mind! Cheers and have a good one!

What is a "shame" is the way you constantly disingenuously, abuse, miss-represent and weaponise our history against us..... Your agenda holds our current ownership responsible for the 10/15 years of poor business management before they arrived and obstinately ignores the colossal damage two sports-washing oil states has done to the historic pecking order of the English game.

It's bullshit.

Hoddle was sold.
Clive Allen was sold.
Waddle was sold.
Gazza was sold.
Linekar was sold.
Sheringham was sold.
Klinsman was sold.
etc. etc.

Levy is satan for selling players that force their way out though.
