Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That says more about our current team than our transfer business.
Are Davies, Dier, PEH, Doherty really that special? I'd say it's more a reflection of the difficult transfer landscape.

We got our first choice targets where possible and made do with cheap option elsewhere, with the hope of doing better next season.

80m for Fofana is taking the piss. Kounde, who cost Barca c50m, is better, more experienced, and isn't recovering from a serious injury.

People talk of a "united premium" when clubs add an extra 10m because it's yanited.

I think we can start talking of a "chav premium".

Guardiola & Shitty offered c30m for Cucurella. Boehly is coughing up north of £50m and a top young player (Colwell) for the hairiest and shortest LCB in the PL.

And that applies even if Cucurella spends most of his time at LWB....

I really like Kounde, but I think Fofana is the better all round package for the PL. Definitely better defensively.

I would much rather we built smarter (ie Fofana's before they are Fofana's) but when we announced the 150m wheelbarrow of cash, and if we were going to spunk big money on players, then this was the kind of "VVD" game changing, team instantly improving, type signing I kind of figured we might make.

If we were prepared to spunk 80m on Bastoni, I don't know why we wouldn't be interested Fofana - he's better, more mobile, quicker and PL proven.

I think Fofana would be excellent in that Dier central CB remit, but could actually play in any of the CB positions. So we get quality and versatility - and he's 21.

Hi John, long time I hope all is well.

What kind of moves do you think would push the window closer to a 9/10 etc?

Looking at it I think we're maybe a CB and an AM away, maybe even a nailed on RWB if Spence isn't ready yet but interested in your thoughts given you rate it a 6 should those 2 signings come off.

Good to hear from you, been dipping in and out of the forum and hope you and everyone is doing well 👍

Hi Mark. I'm good thanks. Nice to see you back. I'm Joan now, btw

You've really answered the question for me tbh. As have the subsequent posters. And as the boss has said himself, we need more if we wish to challenge seriously.

2 of the 3 positions you highlight are crying out for attention and a creative midfielder in the mould of an Eriksen would also be an important addition. Madison, perhaps

With that in mind, and having slept on it, I was probably being generous with a 6

Forster and Lenglet hardly get me moist

Peresic is very old. Some would say too old to be debuting in the blood and thunder of the Premier league .

And Conte himself has distanced himself from the Spence signing.

Bissouma looks a good buy and Richarlison made a statement. Pleased with those.

Zaniola comes across as a poor mans Madison and Udogie wouldn't even be in our squad next season.

Tbh, with us now considered the financial powerhouse of the Premier League, as Airfixx Airfixx rightly highlighted, and the public announcement of the long overdue cash investment of £150million, I expected more, as I suspect everyone else did if they're honest with themselves.

But hey, there's still a few weeks left so a lot could happen yet!

I wonder what kind of eruption they're talking about

Superb analysis there. Nobody ever seems able to come up with the player(s) that are available and want to come to Spurs to make it any better.
It’s “not my job” to identify the missing ingredients etc.
It is the job of Paratici and we know Conte will up sticks if he’s not happy.
Why can’t we trust our own process now we have all the pieces in place?
I’ve never been as zen as a spurs fan and not been as excited for the start of a season in years.
We have one of the best, proven, managers in the world right now. If he’s happy, so am I.
The window hasn't shut yet so we will have to wait to fully assess how the squad will look.
I'm not convinced that it's as good as some think it is so we will see how things pan out over the next few weeks maybe 1/2 more might come in.

Kuluveski has got as many assists in half a season with Spurs in the PL as Zaniolo has got in his whole 100 app career (Kulu is also younger).

The risk with Kulu was whether he could replicate the great form from Parma in his teens rather than the poor form with Juve.

This is not to hate with Zaniolo, I'm just confused as to why we would get an injury prone youngster for £40m+ given his goal contribution record is mediocre.
Him being injury-prone has to be one of the biggest myths in football, up there with the Anfield atmosphere. He's just been unlucky with his ACL (I remember the injury v Juve, that was nasty), but last season he played almost every game for Roma. As for his talent, the guy lit Serie A alight when he went to Roma first from Inter, so much so that Inter fans were crying on the fact that they traded him for Nainggolan. He was a bigger prospect in Italy than what Chiesa was in his day.

It breaks my heart to see all these experts in sports medicine, psychology, training, scouting and club finances with their only outlet being this forum...

Not shooting the messenger and I hope it’s accurate, but this Fabrizio Romano is making a fortune spouting shit all over the place and goal hanging for a tap in when one comes off.
Not much better than any other ITK except he has a legion of followers hanging on to every load of bollocks he posts.
Oh to be a few years younger & a social media savvy fraudster.

Absofuckinglutely.
Blokes got one of the easiest jobs outside of the Royal family. And like those dossers, a brainwashed public pays him for it.
