I am not entirely sure where he fits in to the team. So it seems more like £15,000,000 wasted if anything.

Couldn't we just put that towards giving Kane a bumper new contract?

Tenuously related, but Graham Roberts was on TS today.... He said he speaks to Harry's dad regularly and according to him, Harry's loving life at Spurs again under Conte.

Sign da ting, 'Arold`!!!! 👍

We still have the Romero deal to make permanent.
And Kulu in the next 12 months.

But then we also have GLC, TND, Winks, Reguilon, "a" RB, Tanganga and possible rumours Sarr and Gil could go too.

So there's still a chance we upgrade the squad and don't blow all the money. Or any.

Stay with me - because if we get better and don't spend it, then what could we do next summer?

He'd make a good battering ram to come off the bench and start in lesser cup cup matches.
I genuinely think in our team, he could be more useful than Moura. Maybe not statistically, but I think other players can benefit from the way he can drive the ball into the final 3rd.

Last summer people here decided this guy was to be derided as no more than a "foreign Eric Dier".

What's the current take?
Well k owing the folks on here I’d say they knuckled down and watched 15-20 Fiorentina games to get a rounded and erudite impression of him.

Me, I watched an 8 min YouTube scouting clip and can confirm he’s big

Nah, his deal ran til Jun 22.... He just extended for a year last summer.

(Five year deal which ran from Aug 17....... Current deal signed Aug 21 and expires Jun 23)
You're right- my bad.
But we had a chance to get him for a cheaper price as his contract was running out and we didn't go for it. I guess he only signed a 1 year extension so we still have that chance... I just don't think we rate him.

Some weird takes on Romano in here. I watched a short documentary on a day in his life and he's anything but a tap-in merchant. Obviously he's not ITK in the truest sense but he doesn't just sit behind a computer copying other sources. Pretty sure from what I remember he has a decent sized network with whom he is constantly chasing for info.
These 'documentaries' are created by syndication with other wannabes. They are puff pieces designed to build their profile, where there is no, or very little substance to their claims of credibility. It's like a room full of liars all pointing at one liar saying 'he's SO honest'. It would be compelling. But still a lie.

At this point only his profile is getting him any sniffs, and he needs (as do Athletic etc.) to reinforce his reach/momentum to qualify as worthy of attention. Romano landed his 'Here We Go' jingle, but he's still not an insider and only a bigger follower base will get him there.

Like Varys said on GoT, "power is where it is believed to be" (words to that effect).

Kuluveski has got as many assists in half a season with Spurs in the PL as Zaniolo has got in his whole 100 app career (Kulu is also younger).

The risk with Kulu was whether he could replicate the great form from Parma in his teens rather than the poor form with Juve.

This is not to hate with Zaniolo, I'm just confused as to why we would get an injury prone youngster for £40m+ given his goal contribution record is mediocre.

Skipp played eighteen games last season, and was out injured and is injured now. Does that make him "injury prone"?

If a player suffers an injury from a bad tackle that doesn't make him "injury prone" does it? Was Doherty's injury at the end of last season due to him being "injury prone" or a red card horrendous tackle?

Before Kulu came to Spurs he had less assists than Zaniolo?

In seven EL games last season Zaniolo scored twice and provided two assists and Jose said that he was instrumental in Roma's success in the league and Europe.

Finally if we do land him, i am sure that like he has done with every player brought on or already at the club, Conte will improve him.

He's just turned 23 (July) so is a year older than Kulu, hardly worth mentioning as a reason for comparison is it?
