That's the end of the rumors Fabián Ruiz joining Spurs.
So far PSG have bought Nordi Mukiele, Fabián Ruiz, Renato Sanches, Vitinha, Huge Ekitike, Pablo Sarabia (plus the renewal of Mbappe's contract) and so far only sold Areola (plus loaning out some players)...so how on earth do they by-pass FFP rules

Can we just vote him off then?

Slightly of topic but a year or so ago, we were being told by many that whilst Kane and Son were 'near world class' we had no other top players, other than maybe Lloris.

Seems to me we have added players who are now starting to look like 'very good players' and might even get close to that 'near world class' standing sometime this season in Kulusevski, Bentancur, Bissouma, Romero, Persic and maybe even one or two others ?

Quite a turn round in perception of our squad's quality in just over 12 months ?

I agree other than it wasnt a perception that Kane and Son carried us in 19/20 and 20/21. We had nothing else as was shown when they were both injured a few weeks before lockdown. Kane obviously won the golden boot and most assists in 20/21 and we finished 7th which speaks volumes. Thankfully we've started to buy good players again, have a great manager that improves individuals and whilst Son and Kane are still obviously the main men i think just look a more well rounded team and squad. Probably 2 really good first team level players away from making City and Liverpool a bit twitchy.

Thing is it wasn't just those two missing.... It was also Berg, Lamelal, Sissoko, Davies....

Maybe, but anything good was Kane and Son post lockdown as well. I think most rightly (at the time) wanted rid of Lamela, Sissoko and even Davies. That 3 of those are gone along with Toby, Aurier, Alli and Winks, Lo Celso and Ndombele soon to join them says it all.

The point is the squad was down the bare bones before lockdown.

Being without your 2 best players hurts any team, but we were fucked..... Our attack was down to basically Dele & Gedson ffs.

Davies - in great form or not - was still our most reliable LB...... Ditto Sissoko was still proving more reliable than GLC & TN.

For the past few months, Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with interest in Nicolò Zaniolo.
Spurs faced AS Roma in a pre-season friendly tie in Israel at the end of July.

Radio Radio editorial director Ilario Di Giovambattista said this tie was decisive for Antonio Conte to fall in love with the winger again. Reports even stated the 23-year-old is a step away from joining Tottenham this summer.

Romagiallorossa.it have relayed these two claims and provide their own information on this case.

A source close to the Italy international ‘categorically denies’ claims about the negotiations between José Mourinho’s side and Tottenham over his potential transfer. The website also states there is ‘nothing true’ about claims of the attacker being one step away from Spurs.

With regards to Zaniolo’s future plans, the report insists the player seems to be staying with the Giallorossi, regardless of Tottenham interest.

Zaniolo’s desire to stay at Roma would make it difficult for Conte’s side to carry out his signing this summer.

We were a poor team playing poor football making dreadful signings. But we had Kane, Son and Lloris which kept our league placings just about respectable. Maybe some mitigating factors for that period re injuries but even with a fit Bergwijn and a couple of others i really dont think they'd have been much shift in results. Anyway things are thankfully in a much better place now so i'll leave it there.
