Conte imo is easing our new signings in. Imo bissouma and spence are too good not to playing. It will come. Conte has also said he will rest kane. Patience is key.
Yeah totally agree, Conte said as much this week in his press conference:

"It’s positive for me to have players early because we can work with the new players and bring these players into our ideas," he explained. "Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Bissouma, Perisic - they are ready to go into the team and to play. We will do it because it would be crazy to think we can play the same team every game in 23 days with the same team."

"We have just started the season and it was impossible for these players to have more minutes. Now we start the season and for sure every single player has to play. I think it was really good for me to have these players early because in this way we work together to adapt themselves in the tactical and physical aspect."

"Sometimes I am really surprised when I see players who sign the day before and the day later they play because when there is organisation, or a tactically idea to sign a player the day before and a day later he plays? Yeah it is difficult for the player to go into an idea, if there is an idea of football."

While not getting fees is somewhat frustrating, getting Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Winks, Gil, and Tanganga out saves 30m+ on wages this year.

Hopefully they play well and rebuild their value and the continental clubs are less skint next summer.
It's still so much better than the old way of letting Levy ultimately lose out on receiving a ransom for unwanted players, then letting them sit on our bench sucking down huge wages.

Levy would cut his nose off to spite his face, then lose the player on a free anyways

Yeah 100%, we've lost out on some good fees over the years because Levy was being stubborn and let perfect be the enemy of good.

The market is awful except for the Premier League. Having these unwanted lads playing week in and week out and hopefully rebuilding their value instead of just hanging out at Hotspur Way doing nothing is the way to go.

Ndombele is actually quite a decent fee if Napoli make UCL. I'm kind of glad we didn't sell Lo Celso as he'll have a chance to be in the shop window at the World Cup. No reason to sell Gil considering his age and contract length, let's see what he does in Spain and hopefully he can either come back into the side or build up a reputation and fee.

Winks and Tanganga are both on reasonable wages but ultimately they need to be playing. If they perform in Serie A, they'll attract interest in that league and among Premier League teams. There's also a proven track record of English players playing well in that league and building up their value like Abraham and Tomori.

Ultimately, we're really just biding time in the hope that the European market rebounds with another full season not marred by COVID.

Tanganga replacement?

Started for the Ukrainian national team as an 18 year old when they were quarterfinalists at Euro 2020, has 22 senior caps for Ukraine and has played UCL football with Dynamo Kiev. Really should be going to the World Cup, they definitely outplayed Wales in the playoff.

Big talent, think he's already an improvement over Rodon and Tanganga and has massive potential. Would be an astute purchase but not the first choice CB most of us would like. But honestly we just really haven't been linked to a player like that since Bastoni so I feel like we're waiting until next year.

Yes might be astute singing but I still don’t get this philosophy of getting rid of young HG / British players and hoping we can find someone to replace them who may or may not be any better. Certainly won’t be starting 11 and being g overseas unproven.

Excluding them didn't devalue anything, nobody would pay money for these players. Everyone in the world saw how they played against Mura and Morecambe last season. Excluding them was the best thing to do because it sent a clear message to them that they will not play for this club again.

Nobody outside of England has any money anyway. Pepe left Woolwich on loan, Dele left Everton on loan, Hudson-Odoi left Chelsea on loan, continental clubs cannot afford to pay a nice fee and take on the salary of these players as well.
This is what happens with such a distorted industry where all the wealth sits with a dozen or so PL clubs. The players you mentioned there are nowhere near elite but impossible for most to afford. So instead of going to play for a team at their level they prefer to see out their massive contracts. Can’t blame them for doing so but so much talent out there is wasted

I mean, I don’t think it’s a strategy so much as the individuals aren’t good enough to play for our first team. Have any of the youngsters who’ve left really made us regret it? KWP probably the best of the bunch and I don’t think he’s anything more than a solid Premier league player and we got money for his sale. Madueke barely plays for PSV anymore.

Zabarnyi has 22 senior caps at age 19 for a good national team and has played UCL and knockout stages in a big international tournament. He’s well ahead of Tanganga and 4 years younger.

Your probably right. I was just expressing the view that the general perception.seems to be young British players are not given a chance. I wounder what would have happened if harry was just starting out? Conte probably wouldn’t have given him the gane time and gone for a foreign import. Possible?

I think it’s just the virtue of being a young player at a top club with so much money nowadays, you need to hit the ground running immediately or you’re going to be passed over.

It’s just as true of Gil as it is Tanganga. Kane forced his way into the starting lineup under Pochettino by making impacts off the bench and lighting it up in his Europa league chances. Pochettino was choosing Adebayor over him at first until Kane’s play made it impossible for him not to start. You just don’t get much time to slowly bed in at a club of our stature and financial power in the modern era, you have to make an impact the moment you get the chance. Skipp and Walker are two others that come to mind as taking their first chance and not looking back.
