If we’d Levy’d them (of previous seasons), we could be getting £40m+

But, Conte would have grumbled, other targets values will have risen when the world sees Fofana £80m odd etc.

Clubs should be setting themselves up for the next decade, lets see how this market develops (think it is clear, even in COVID/Pandemic, Football was much more missed than Churches etc.), hyper inflation means?

Dystopia Utd.
The later half of the summer window has just been nuts when it comes to valuation of players. It’s mainly been Utd and Chelsea, both are taking “paying a premium” to the next level.

Winks and Reggie weren’t in squad at all and weren’t gonna be registered. Irrelevant to our incomings.
Gil/Sarr and Tanganga are our possible outgoings to get someone in.
My guess and my hope earlier on in the window was a new AM and CB.
I think Spence may well be also used as a sort of AM so we should be sorted with attacking players.

Did somebody ask for a summary and a new table?

Still 17 non-HG if we want to buy abroad. We are supposed to have received a few bids for Moura.

Just looking at our bench from yesterday - pretty damn impressive:

Doherty
Richarlison
Sessengon
Forster
Spence
Tanganga
Sarr
Lenglet
Bissouma

Without injuries we are probably looking at:

Lucas
Richarlison
Sessengon
Forster
Spence
Sanchez
Skipp
Lenglet
Bissouma

That leaves these 4 out of the matchday squad:

Tanganga
Doherty
Sarr
Gil

If we do sign Tanganga and Gil replacements, I wonder who makes way on the bench.

Just some Eredivise stats:

Antony last season:
8G 4A

Antony’s best season:
9G 8A

Bergwijn’s final 1/2 Eredivise season with PSV (we bought in Jan so August- December only):
5G 10A

Bergwijn’s best Eredivise season:
14G 12A

I’m laughing because this isn’t even close… bear in mind also that Ajax>PSV so B at disadvantage.

Hey, Stevie has already scored 4 goals in 4 games.
With this tempo he will equal Anthony's best goal tally by end of fucking september.

And I will gurarantee you - at least for Ajax, Stevie will be an upgrade on Anthony.
With this upgrade they will also bank in 50+ mil EUR.

What a joke.

I know the winger --> wingback transition gets made fun of a lot with Conte, but I do actually wonder if that is the thinking here.

I still don't think it would be a good move, and transitioning him to wingback would make a lot more sense if we were moving someone like Doherty on instead of Gil, and if we hadn't already got Spence.

I'd be very surprised if this is what we end up doing.

Winks and Reggie out, 2 players in?
Hope so at this stage. They have to be replaced.
My guess and my hope earlier on in the window was a new AM and CB.

Are you guys really still hoping for 2 additions?

I mean I also hope this but considering that -
- only what... 80 hours of window left
- all links becoming quiet
- Conte talking about strenghtening the squad in past tense in the interview

I am starting to think (or more so becoming afraid) we have completed our incoming business.

I hope I am wrong of course.
I would not want to see us going into the season with only 5 really usable CBs (with 3 starting in every game) and 5 usable FW's (with 3 starting every game)...
At the same time in midfield we have Bissouma, PEH, Hjojberg, Skippy, Sarr (5 for 2)
and on wingback area Perisic, Sessegnon, Royal, Doherty, Spence (5 for 2).

As I've said previously - there is some flexibility involved - Perisic could play in LW position, possibly Royal in RCB position... but still.
Would not mind an attacking player (also capable of playing AM) + another CB that would be upgrade on Tanganga.
If we actually would get two decent players in, the squad would be frightening tbh!

I think everyone would like another one or two incoming players - if its two, one needs to be taking up an empty HG place (under uefa regs) with another probably replacing Sarr as the 17th 'overseas trained player' in the squad.

No real rumours on the HG player, and with Leicester about to get a kings ransom from selling Fofana its unlikely to be one of their players. Gordon to Chelsea seems to have died - but not sure if Everton would sell at a more realistic £35m

Not that many rumours on the overseas trained player either - Malinovskyi seemed to be a possibility but any rumours seemed to stop a few days ago.

On the other hand club football comes to an end in early November for the world cup and resumes on Boxing Day with the January transfer window about to open then. So in reality we only need to could use the current squad for just over 2 months before an other transfer window opens.

We've made 6 decent signings already this window and not sure any other PL side has got better players in so having finished 4th last season and not having lost any key players (biggest loss being Bergwijn massively upgraded by Richarlison) we are actually in a good position.

But perhaps the biggest trick up our sleeve is having Kulusevkski and Bentancur for a full season rather than half a season from January - and our results improved a lot after they arrived. Just to illustrate that with some stats - Kulusevski got 5 goals and 8 assists for Spurs in that half season and he's already added 2 more assists this season, and his 10 assists in 2022 is already more than any other PL player this year. So every chance he gives us another 10 - 15 more goal involvements than last season, not to mention Bentancur who chipped in 4 assists in 6 months, so the pair could easily be adding some 20 extra goal involvements between them ...... !

He wouldn’t be a wingback because we’re replacing Gil who is our 6th attacker.
