We don't pay the wages, we won't be in Europe let alone Champions League, we will be off the back of 2 seasons in 17th at best. I can't see any good players beating down the door to come to us.
Maybe we can get one of those manager chaps like the ones you used to find everywhere. You know, the ones that make the players we have, better? Been a while since we had one of them.

If we got one, we may not have to spend hundreds of millions trying to attract players that only want to come here because of the cash.

Next season is stabilize things, get us into a solid 8th or 9th so that we can see what we actually have among the young prospects. Then take it from there.

Messed up thing about Frank is that he got backed with players on big wages coming in. Probably more than any manager we’ve ever had.

And the cunt ended up the worst manager we’ve ever had.

They have the wiggle room to offer big wages to new players in the summer even without CL football BUT…the way the squad is built, we’re going to need the next manager to improve some of our young players. We can’t just stack the squad playing once a week

I think a couple of the big earners have to move on in the summer. Romero should probably move on, by the time we are in any position to make a bit of noise he is going to be about 30.

Frank defo was backed. Xavi and Kudus are big signings on significant wages and we were happy to pay the wages needed for Eze and MGW.

I actually think our squad fully fit is pretty good. Even with 4/ 5 players out it's good but the number of players we have out is ridiculous and we need at least 2/3 quality starters next season if we stay up.

Have to? I’m not sure we financially need to sell anyone.

They might want to move on. Romero will want to win things at this stage of his career. If offers come in and we don’t show early intent to win in the transfer window, his agent will likely get noisy.

Exactly. Add 2-3 real quality players but get the transfers right, and this squad Is competitive. Especially playing once a week

Yeh having Romero, Danso, Porro, Udogie, Bentancur, Bergvall, Maddison, Kulusevski, Odobert, Davies, Kudus injured or in Romero’s case suspended is nuts.

Annoyingly we seem to get one big injury per game, not even minor it’s always ACL or hamstring surgery or the like.

Yes we do, if Villa and Newcastle can build their squads adequately and aign good players then there's 0 reason why we shouldn't be able to, wages thing is a cop out, always has been.

There are always good players out there, we're juzt lazy when it comes to scouting. A major reason why we are falling behind is that our rivals in the Premier League are able to recruit better talent than we do and sign players who fit profiles better than we do.

We are starting to pay the wages but we’re still miles off City, Liverpool, woolwich and Manure.

We aren’t aiming for Newcastle and Villa, a d we never were

No doubt that those 2 clubs have been much better than us at building a squad. Particularly Villa. That means we have more work to do going forward because we have to move quite a few players on and bring players in at the same time.

First we have to bomb the useless herberts responsible for recruitment out of the club, then bring in some people that know what they are doing, then get on with the work. So this is a 2 or 3 year job to get near the top 4 in my opinion, assuming we don't fuck things up -- which is a pretty heroic assumption.

There's probably been internal discussions to hire some decent coaches, but our board of bankers, aerospace experts, accountants, and Joe Lewis's kids decided that they weren't necessary, as we already have a couple of VanHool's liveried up and in perfect working order
