Lost market value?

We were bidding more last season than City bought him for im sure
It was an inter-City Football Group transfer.

I'm just going based on Transfermarkt, which is bollocks, but apples-to-apples general public perception bollocks.

I'd be well happy if we get in:

Senesi (far from sure about that, since Iraola went to dippers)
Hecke (also doubtful)
Scott/Wharton/Hackney/Anderson (in order of likelihood: 80, 60, 40, 1)
Savio (probably?)
CF/ST
LW/RW

And move on:
...
You know what, I don't really hate anyone on our team, now I've had time to cool off. I'll leave it to RDZ. But fine with anyone leaving, tbh. I know most of our weaknesses, but with the above 'ins' I think we will look very different. e.g. Porro/Spence/Tel will shine if we can camp in their half.

Not really true. One of the challenges of being Tottenham is that we play in a league where 13 teams set up against us like we're Manchester City and 6 set up against us like we're Norwich City.

To an extent yes.

But even the 13 you mentioned that will be more wary defensively they will still commit more going forwards and have periods where they are on top and semi- camped in our half and thats the difference. City dont experience that very much at all.
Even recieing the ball in his own half and a lacking support he can carry, go both ways and draw other players out of positions. There are many examples in there v the top teams and he is totally un-phased.

Theres ALOT to.wotk with there. His natural talent level is extremely high imo and almost comparable to those uber wingers we all dream off. I think the goals will come under RDZ as he becomes a key player with consistent minutes.

I take the point, I essentially just think anytime you're saying "this is a player who will shine with space to play into" you are talking about someone who isn't going to thrive in the Premier League.

Pep 90% possession tiki-taka takes it to the level of parody, but this is a league from top to bottom where you are not given time and space and must be tactically proficient and one-two touch technically classy.

Another one that can jog-on.

Out of order raging at young Bergvall when he'd just come, to shit on his confidence, when he was making nonsense errors himself.

Ciao ciao! 👋
Bergvall does not seem to have been as menacing as he was in his first few games. I wonder if the injury plus vic's abuse has set him back? I thought he was mint at first, really hope he can get back some of that swagger.

Never seen him, we need a keeper but I feel like Kinsky deserves a chance

He will have a chance but we still have to sign the best keeper we can and the new guy and Kinsky battle it out for the no 1 spot.
Can see a few saying going for an experienced back (Darlow and the likes). Would be a big mistake imo. What happens if Kinsky gets injured or starts the season poorly? We need real competition and depth enough of this back up shit

If it’s true and Levy has sold his stake to that guy who wanted to buy the club last year and promised to pump a huge sum into transfers, wonder if he would still pump a huge sum in. A gift to introduce himself would be nice…..Osimhen would be ok.

Toby is back in the papers with what type of players that we should sign.
"I want players that the desire is there to improve. The best example is PSG. They had the biggest players. They won the French league, but never in the Champions League. They went back, sold their best players and went with people that have a fire in them.

"I can only speak from my own experience. We had people that wanted to improve - Harry Kane, Sonny, Eric Dier, Wanyama. There were players that want to improve and put the team as number one."

He added: "So you might say 'Spurs need to become better so we need to pay for big players'. We don't need big players. We need players with big hearts who can improve and that's something I really want to see. The team, the club, comes number one and that's very important."

He's not wrong. While we do need to improve the base quality of the squad by signing better players. We also need to target players that still want to improve and getter better to boot.

I think we can agree on Leao and Rashford being comparable players in talent, value and trustworthiness terms.

I think we should be extremely skeptical of both of them as transfer targets, do not misunderstand me there.

But those are players who have reached very significant levels in the game, "potential" is the wrong word to use, and comparisons to Savinho are absurd, they have nothing but a position on the field in common.

I mostly agree. I really rate Rashford as a player - he’s really good when arsed with several very productive seasons - but I wouldn’t describe him or Leao as ever being one of the best attacking players around. They were in that tier below of good attacking players with flaws.

Sadly neither wants to press. You can get away with this, Villa had Rashford on loan and adored him, but it’s tactic dependent. A Villa or Spurs will put up with it more than a Barcelona will, unless it’s a god tier talent.

Leao was playing at a good level and I would now categorise him as having fallen to a very average level. And he still doesn’t want to change that by working hard. Which is pretty concerning.
