He's free, prem proven and 32.

No risk.

Stop moaning.

There we go

He’s injury proven and proven to be physically shot to bits in the prem in recent years. He’s free but probably comes in on a solid wage and stockpiling injury ruined players isn’t a good strategy just because it’s easy and cheap.

Honestly the amount of shite signings our fanbase have done the “stop moaning” schtick is mental. I don’t want run down left backs whose prime was four seasons ago, sorry.

One free signing does not a strategy make.

Maybe we should continue the strategy of wasting time chasing players way out of our manor, like Semenyo and Eze.

I hear Nuno Mendes is desperate to join us from PSG.

I think it's the fear of another Perisic situation.
A decent, or very good player but with his injury record and our medical staff, it's got waste of money written all over it.

Why is the only choice between signing over the hill injury ruined players or stars? Maybe we could try to do what most clubs in between do. Just a thought.

We already have one injury wrecked left back, but at least he’s young. Now we want to strengthen that position with an old and injury ruined one. It’s stupid.

We were unlucky with Perisic.

He's been great since leaving us. Was great with us when he played.

He's a guy that's been signed, for free, to be a squad player and raise standards.

Ask any Liverpool fan and they will tell you, Robertson is an impeccable character.

He's also won the lot. For free, I can tolerate it.

I wanted Perisic and would be very happy if we were signing a similar player. He wasn’t physically shot when we got him, ended up with a long term injury but that happens. When he did play he contributed.

Robertson is injured more often than not and when he plays his body doesn’t do the things he wants it to. It’s a total waste of time.

I've suggested Anthonee Robinson many a time. Which fits your criteria.

I just don't think this particular signing isn't anything to cry over as a free squad player.

We aren't in Europe next season so hopefully injuries will improve naturally.

Oh yeah, Perisic was and still is, a great player.
Don't get me wrong, Robinson is not his level but does bring a lot of experience and leadership with him, as well as being a very popular figure in the dressing room.
And he's not a bad player by any margin, it's as you say, his injuries and our luck and medical staff makes it a very risky signing, even it he's free.

I'd have taken him in January for sure but now? Probably not.

Nothing is ever free. He is on around 160/170 a week and will probably want a bump on that. We will end up paying 20m in wages for a guy in decline because he brings impeccable character. Not for me. Would rather spend a fraction of that on someone who is hungry.
