I think the issue is the club has used up good will. If we were in a healthy place with a healthy developing Udogie and the rationale was a bit of experience and cover then the fans would be happy.
When we are in our current state the groans are totally reasonable imo. This guy really struggles physically in the league and that will only get worse. I don’t know what wage he would want but I doubt it’s pennies.

Fully accept he's a high character guy but what does he have left to prove? Nothing really so I'm not entirely sure what his motivation will be. Where he would give 100% for the bin dippers week in week out, he will probably be on 98% for us which might not sound like a lot but it's the odd 50/50 he doesn't go in hard for or the full sprint to get back and clear one off the line... There is a reason the bin dippers are fine with him moving on and are not trying to extend him for a season or two. They have better and we should be buying better.

We tried to buy him in Jan, we moaned about it then for the same reason we moaned about it now, in fact in Jan you could probably understand it because of the situation we were in but what is the point of signing him now? The guy is washed, doesn't even fit how the manager plays and he's going to be on a high wage which means he's not going to be easy to get rid of, an absolutely pointless signing, just like Gallagher was.
I have thought for ages that Rico Henry would be a very good fit for us.
