For a Club that finished 17th last season and is now Fighting relegation, why would he be mad if both our CB's went?

Do you honestly think rdz would be happy to sell both right now, unless we were making proper signings to replace? I realise vuskovic would be one but I dont think selling two main players in a given position would go well with a proper manager which he is.

Maybe I'm still reeling from selling berba and Keane in the same window but I highly doubt he'd be ok with it and he would be right.

These players have been coached badly in a loser environment for too long. That doesnt make them shit.

It's like any work environment where shit management fails to get the best out of people.

Just my opinion

I don't think we'll know until the summer

Right now he's just saying everyone is amazing so they have much needed confidence for the run in.

I expect the axe will swing once the season ends and we know where we stand. An exodus is going to occur whether we/he likes it or not if we don't stay up

Probably because they're two genuinely class players standing out in a pile of wank.
Like sorting through your fridge and keeping all the mouldy crap while binning all the stuff that's fresh and still in date.
They'll be our 2 most coveted players for a reason.

I think that if we stay up then both vdv and romero will stay. I think for the good of both parties romero should leave but feel RDZ will feel he can serve a purpose in the type of teams he wants to build and put him right.

I think IF we manage to stay up then its quality over quantity. 100% a quality left winger, and cm, striker and gk

That will leave us a little short and potentially weak in certain areas but we have alot of bodies to cut from this squad and no Europe.

Vicario, dragusin, sarr, bissouma, richy, spence need to leave for various reasons imo and kolo and palhinha loans ended without signing them. Thats 8 out and we need 4 in

For me , it’s the last 2 seasons we have let a losers mentality grow within the squad, a proper captain doesn’t let that happen , certain people like Romero as he called out ENIC , myself I like defenders who keep clean sheets, same as VDV it’s obvious he downed tools months ago , i get we have had terrible managers but these guys couldn’t even do the basics , do we really want to keep fair weather players like this?
Maybe it’s just me but I’d be getting rid of anyone that was part of the so called leadership team the last few seasons and start again.

I want Romero,to go, he’s more into Argentina than Spurs. Micky might well stay, he seems impressed by RDZ. Palhinha must stay, his attitude on Sunday was brilliant. Porro, don’t know but he was more impressive defensively on Sunday. These players have been poorly coached for a couple of years and they lost confidemce and a good bit of interest.

I want a striker who can score and lead the line with the attitude of Richy. Richy has to go but Imhope we also, replace Solanke next year.

I feel what youre saying mate and part of me wants to agree. But in my subjective experience I've managed people who are managers and team leaders bla bla. It's always seem to me if the culture at the top is shit, all the less mature leaders are too. I'm not here to defend this bunch of players btw, just can't stand weak senior leaders

Finally get a top manager in who our best players actually respect ....

.....Then pull the rug from under his feet by selling them 😆

Goalkeeper to watch if we stay in the league is Noah Atubolu from Freiburg. He eyes the Premier League has lots of potential to make the next step and battle it out with Kinsky.
As of May 2026, SC Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu is attracting significant interest from several top European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window. He has recently changed agencies, moving to Epic Sports, which is widely seen as a sign of an impending move away from Freiburg.

Clubs Interested in Noah Atubolu
  • Premier League:
    • Brighton & Hove Albion: Seriously considering him as a potential successor to Bart Verbruggen.
    • Tottenham Hotspur: Tracking him as a possible priority reinforcement for their goalkeeping department.
    • Manchester United: Reported to have scouts impressed by his Bundesliga performances.
    • Other clubs: Chelsea, West Ham United, Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Leeds United have also been linked to the German shot-stopper.
  • Serie A:
    • Inter Milan: Actively exploring a deal, with meetings reportedly planned for a summer transfer.
    • AC Milan: Already in contact with Atubolu's agency as they monitor his situation.
    • Napoli & Juventus: Both Italian giants are also keeping tabs on his availability.
  • La Liga & Bundesliga:
    • Atlético Madrid: Closely monitoring him as a potential target.
    • Bayer Leverkusen & Eintracht Frankfurt: Monitoring his progress within Germany.
    • Galatasaray: Previously mentioned in transfer rumors.
Key Transfer Details
  • Valuation: Freiburg is expected to settle for a fee in the region of €20 million.
  • Contract Status: His current deal runs until June 2027, but he has reportedly decided against an extension, forcing Freiburg to consider a sale this summer.
  • Performance: In the 2025–26 season, he has recorded 6 clean sheets in 32 Bundesliga appearances and was instrumental in Freiburg's run to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals
The likelihood of Noah Atubolu joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer is currently considered high, with sources estimating the probability around 48%. He is viewed as a "dream move" for the player, who is reportedly targeting a jump to the Premier League.

Key Factors Driving the Transfer
  • Vicario's Potential Exit: Spurs are actively scouting Atubolu because current No. 1 Guglielmo Vicario is heavily linked with a return to Italy, specifically to Inter Milan.
  • Strategic Fit: Atubolu has been dubbed a "Manuel Neuer regen" by scouts who have given him top marks for his elite ball distribution and sweeping style, which fits the tactical needs of the club.
  • Contract Leverage: With his contract expiring in 2027 and no extension in sight, SC Freiburg is under pressure to sell this summer to avoid losing him for free later.
  • Transfer Fee: He is expected to cost between €20 million and €35 million. This makes him a more affordable option compared to other Spurs targets like James Trafford or Dean Henderson.

Potential Obstacles
  • Competition: Spurs face stiff competition from Brighton, who view him as a replacement for Bart Verbruggen, as well as Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan.
  • League Position: Some reports suggest Tottenham's current league struggles (sitting near the bottom of the table in late 2025/2026) could make it harder to convince top-tier talents if they lack European football.
  • Risk Profile: While talented, his save percentage this season (approx. 63%) has led some analysts to label him a "high-risk, high-reward" signing who may still be "raw" for the Premier League.

Noah Atubolu’s stats from the 2025/26 season suggest he would be a sidegrade or a long-term investment rather than an immediate massive leap in quality over Guglielmo Vicario. While Atubolu excels in modern distribution and penalty-stopping, his raw save metrics are currently similar to Vicario's.

Analysis of the Fit
  • The "Sweeper-Keeper" Profile: Scouts have consistently compared Atubolu to Manuel Neuer due to his high volume of "keeper sweeper" actions and comfort with the ball at his feet. This matches the high-line tactical demands of Tottenham's current system.
  • Elite Penalty Stopping: One of Atubolu's standout strengths is his mental focus during spot-kicks; he recently became the first Bundesliga goalkeeper to save five consecutive penalties.
  • Distribution Performance: While their total passing accuracy is similar, analysts note that Atubolu is often asked to play more complex long balls compared to Vicario, who has faced criticism for "kicking issues" and a dip in distribution accuracy this season.
  • Champions League Experience: Vicario has the edge in elite-level experience this term, having kept 6 clean sheets in 10 Champions League games, showing he can perform on the biggest stage despite Spurs' domestic struggles.
