Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not seen many mentions of Igor Thiago on here. Only one season in England, but an extremely good season. Is he a striker we should be considering? Out of our league? Or not good enough?

I like him. Fairly complete, doesn't have great pace but other than that he does most things. Brentford play on the counter but I would expect him to be able to work a more crowded box. Think I heard something about Chelsea interest and a price around 90m, so probably out of our reach

Because he is VERY good at the moment. Very assured and composed player. He is playing the double pivot right now and he could be the deep playing midfielder we have been longing for. If his form does not drop off he will be an England regular after the WC

He's not the profile we need though, he's more of a runner/ball carrier not a deep lying playmaker as he doesn't progress the ball anywhere near enough - he is basically a more refined version of Bergvall.

I know he's Spurs but do we actually need Alex Scott and if so why?
He’d easily be our best CM. Ups our technical level a tonne in midfield.

He’s a very complete player for a team that wants to dominate the ball. Very underrated physically too.

Would also allow us to send Bergvall out on loan to develop properly.

The midfield needs clearing out and the focus should be on technical ability and passing.

Extremely good is pushing it.

Big fat no.

Solanke looked good once. As did Richarlison. We wanna do much better in the league, we gotta stop reproducing them same old mistakes.
22 goals in 36 matches puts him second in the top scorers position. I’d say that was extremely good.

Judging by the paucity of decent strikers in the market, who should we go for that we can get?

If we use the argument that Solanke and Richarlison were good before we signed them, are we looking for a striker who isn’t very good instead? Not sure I get your point here.

if we stay up should be the top target for the summer. He’s obviously a great player already, but he’s also got a big personality on the pitch, he’s got a bit of everything as a midfielder, not just a ball carrier at all. He can pass and move, pass through the lines from deep, everything goes through him at Bournemouth.

Remember you asking this with Samenyo and Eze.last summer we could have done with them this season to say the least.

Gonna need another season from him, everything about him just screams 1 season scammer and we've been down that road before.

He's not really a passer though, he's not really a specialist, Fernandes, Garner actually fit better as they are both progressors.

Had 1 goal every 2 appearances for Ludogorets and Club Brugge before going to Brentford too. Much lower levels, granted. And also had a bad injury at Brentford too, so reasons there to not look at him. But his scoring record seems pretty consistent over the past few seasons.

He can pass. He’s on another level to Garner as a midfielder. Fernandes is good but he’s got a bit of everything too.

Get good players first, secondly, that can handle the ball under pressure. I don’t want players that can just do one thing because footballs a game that you get tested on the other stuff too. I don’t want a Huddlestone, probably one of the best passers in the last 30 years. I’d rather a type, who can handle the ball, make a yard for himself to pass simply but effectively and carry the ball when it’s needed and is mobile. Frank made everyone believe we were shit because we didn’t have this mythical passer that would have made everything great. Absolute load of horseshit.

His strength is ball carrying, not passing, look at his forward pass percentage compared to the other two - that's what we are lacking.

We don't need another ball carrier at this club, we have too many of them as it is.

Hackney is another one we should be looking at as well

Who’s a ball carrier starting for us in midfield now? Sarr? Not good enough, Bergvall? Yes potentially but he’s not nailed on for a starting spot at the moment and you need more than one. Gray? no. Bentancur Is more a schemer making angles. Players are going to leave as well.

stats can be misleading. Putting Garner in this team won’t make a us a good team just because his stats say he passes the ball forward at a higher percentage. Last summer it was we’re lacking a dribbler, according to stats Kudus is the best dribbler. That didn’t really make us a better team. Just because Scotts not doing it there as much doesn’t mean he’s not capable either. What we’re lacking is controlling games, not having enough players that can look after the ball under pressure, a way of moving through the pitch,(which doesn’t just have to be a Wharton type),cutting edge up front. Who was the progressive passer under poch? Not that I know off the top of my head but I’d say Dier had a higher percentage of forward balls yet we were a better side with Wanyama and Dembele.
