Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don't think you need older players to be successful, but having a few experienced good eggs who know how to win and set standards can really help, I think. Especially when the rest of the squad is quite young.
There's a really good article in the Athletic (shocker) about how Spam got relegated this year. A major point is how they got rid of all the veteran leaders in the locker room like Antonio and Cresswell and never replaced them.

Getting that elusive striker is going to be an issue, there are no standout on the market.

Although I reckon Nicholas Jackson has got some potential, he needs a run of matches for the right team

My prediction for the summer and next season:

1. We wait through the World Cup while rumours circulate about who is coming in. We tell ourselves “It’s not the right time to be signing players”
2. We miss key targets who go to clubs that will pay more and have champions league football to offer.
3. We sign a player who has had an unexpectedly good World Cup for over inflated fees; it later turns out that he is hopeless.
4. We sign a couple of plodders from Ligue 2 that have Danny Rose reaching for Siri.
5. We sign a 33 year old ‘’legend’’ from another club who is past their prime and just looking for one last pay out.
6. The return of Dejan and Madders from injury are hailed as “‘virtually new signings”’.
6. We win a pre season tournament in the Far East; this makes us all excited about the coming season.
7. We win our first game at home. “Glory, Glory” rings out across the land.
8. The wheels fall off in September.
9. RDZ is blamed and sacked by Christmas.
10. You know the rest ….

PROVE ME WRONG ENIC, PROVE ME WRONG!

No idea why we’d sign Andy Robertson. I could understand it in January when we were desperate for leaders. But now we’ve stayed up? No thanks. He’s not good enough, legs have gone and he’s only got one season in him at most. Let RDZ build his own team, not Lange.

Once again, we’re in for a shit show of a summer.

Lewis family have already done their comms with that SkySports article and basically said ‘we’re skint’, even went as far to say they’ll need to chuck £200m into the club and none of it can be used on transfers, and now the manager has come out and said he needs some proper first team quality.

It’s all gonna end in tears.

I think its about leadership, character and winning mentality. It likely that the current leadership group baring Madders and maybe Porro are out the door so we need an injection of experience. I'm dead against buying players who are on the slide but for a season or two he'll be a decent buy on a free. Same with Senesi (free) and Palhinha (15-20m). Not a huge fan of either of them but if the price is right you make the deal.

Nah, Jackson has never been a good goalscorer. I think our best realistic options at striker are Undav and Guirassy, although it'll be hard to get them to jump from UCL clubs to us this summer.

I think there is a reality that many aren’t going to like this summer.

The squad has to get smaller as there will be less games. We clearly need some experience in the mix. Players like Kinsky, Gray, Bergvall, and Tel will be vital to our reset too.

I think we will move out Richy, Muani, Vicario, Bissouma, Vicario, Dragusin, Davies at a minimum. There are clearly question marks around Udogie, I also think Bentancur and Sarr will be on the out ramp looking.

Sounds like Sensei and Robertson will be arriving. Palhinha is almost certainly coming back.

I can’t see how we don’t back Vuskovic to make a starting position his.

Moore will need another year on loan.

Xavi, Deki, Kudus, Odobert aren’t moving with their injuries so will probably be seen as beneficial additions rather than the base numbers of the squad.

I think De Zerbi will push hard for a striker and a midfielder of increased quality.

This is a deal that made sense in Jan, but not now. You honestly think RDZ would want him? We can do much better. He’s not good enough for Liverpool so he’s shouldn’t be good enough for us.

Want to see Vuskovic and Moore back. The latter will be needed in the squad as we cant be making the same mistake as this season thinking about players that will out for at least half a season. If he isnt getting the minutes or players recover we can loan him in January. Vuskovic straight in for Romero.

I don't believe this.

Robertson, Sensei, Palhinha is a good start

I hope Vuskovic comes in if we sell Romero

I want 3 new first team forwards because the ones we have aren't good enough or are too injury prone. This should have been addressed when Son was still here.

"We have 10, 11, 12 players good enough to stay. Good enough. Like players. Especially like people. And then we have to complete the squad with the first level of players.'

Ouch. 28 players in the current squad. So Di Zerbi just binned off more than half the squad.

He's in for a shock when he's told 'we tried'.

What? We are miles away from Liverpool. Finishing 17th once can be put down as very unlucky season but twice. Nah mate, we ain't too good for Robertson albeit I would have agreed with you in January but now the season is over and I can reflect a bit then its clear we need a new culture and on the pitch leadership team to raise standards.
