Transfers Summer 2026 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I was all for selling Bentancur earlier in the season, but he showed his value in the run-in (we only started playing with anything resembling a structure once he got back in) and he’d be an ideal rotational piece.

For me it’s:

Stiller Bentancur Gray
Scott, Gallagher (plus Porro in Emergencies)

Bissouma & Sarr out, Bergvall, Olusesi, Russell-Denny loaned.

Summer 2027 recall Bergvall, Sell Gallagher & Bentancur. One of the returning youth can surely have a squad place.

This is forward planning.

In 2027 we’d have Luca Williams Barnett ready to bolster the AM ranks too.
I’m not knocking the way Bentancur played at all mate. I am knocking the availability.

In a back up role, fine but he’s pretty likely to miss a bunch of games next season. If there’s a market for him, I’m listening

We might be prepared to pay the transfer fee and wages, but the top tier of players are not going to consider us.

Wouldn't surprise me if we made a move for Mateta as our striker.

Meanwhile over on SC:

Update from Prof on COYS.

A brief pre-transfer window update for the COYS faithful.

From Finch and Galahad: expectations within the club are that the Senesi and Robertson deals should be tied up fairly quickly. We are in negotiations with clubs and reps re half a dozen other players - first and second choices at 3 different positions, so our aim is to sign 3 of them (one for each position).

From Guinevere: RDZ reviewed the target list produced by JL and the scouting team. He approved most of them; he rejected a few based on lack of fit for the system he wants to play and/or him not rating the player.

Every time I think of our midfield (where great teams are made), I feel disgusted.

You can have one of Bentancur or Gallagher but having both is unacceptable. Even more troubling when you also have Sarr.

Palhinha is a great rotation option but he can’t be first choice.

Are Gray/Bergvall ready to step up?

What an injury disaster our number #10 spot is with Maddison, Simons, Kulusevski.

Honestly wish we could just clear the deck and start from scratch. I really don’t think we have a single starting caliber player among the lot, except maybe Maddison if he’s healthy. Gallagher, Palhinha, Gray, and Bergvall are decent depth players at least.

United have also been my template. They had a big summer not in quantity but in quality. Thats the exact type of window we have been lacking.

Cunha: immediate starter, proven, £60m
Mbeumo: immediate starter, proven, £60m
Sesko: starting striker, potential, £80m
Lammens: starting keeper, £20m

Just 4 senior players brought in. But each of them directly improved the 1st team in positions of need. It isn’t rocket science. And it doesn’t even need to be PL-proven established players as Lammens shows. Just buy quality.
Yeah it's really not as hard as some make out.

Agree. Unlikely.

But that's also okay for now, as we need to rebuild our stock and standing.

And that's why we absolutely must keep on sourcing young and up and coming talent, because that's a way to find that gem,/nugget.

Upgrading our attacking options, immediately makes a big difference.

If we could move on Solanke and Richarlison with evident upgrades that would be good, and for me that must be attackers with very different but defined quality.

Tap-in merchant, ball-striker, pacy, 2-footed, physical. Skilful. Good in the air.

I would always want to see at least 2 or 3 of those attributes and at a high level. And crucially, signs of mental strength.

For your own sake lads don't get caught up in links with Scott, Baleba etc. if that's where you are setting your expectations then you'll be hugely disappointed. We are a few years away, at best, before we might be in a position to go for players at that level as they will be wanted by clubs who haven't finished 17th 2 seasons in a row, who can offer European football and who will pay better wages.

If you set yourself up thinking we will sign players like that then whoever we bring in you'll be disappointed.

So what? Not really how football works. Or maybe we should have signed John O'Shea and Johnny Evans?
O'Shea and Evans in their prime were bit part nobodies.
Stones and Robertson were both key players.
Sounds to me like you would also prefer Stones and Robertson over Kane and Olise or what do you want to say?

Name one single player in our current squad that has achieved anything of note at league level.
The best I can come up with is Romero for his national side, not a league side. And he's leaving. Hopefully.

To all those complaining about getting experienced freebies in...

...look at Aston Villa's squad.

Not price wise, experience wise.

That's what experience gets you.

So stop turning your nose up at the likes of Robertson, Senesi and Stones, because if it were any other club finishing back-to-back 17th they wouldn't have a chance of signing players of this quality.

Same people moaned about McTominay links whilst at United and dismissed the signing of Granit Xhaka.

We need men.
