I think you will be surprised by Robertson. Don't get the sense he will be Udogie's back up at all.
What gives you that sense? Genuine question.

Only started roughly half their games last season behind Kerkez who wasn’t exactly setting the world alight. And only managed 3 assists all season, 1 in the league. If that doesn’t scream a player in massive decline, what does?

There’s no way he comes in here as first choice, and if he does, we’re going backwards.

Its a step in the right direction.

Proper cover is a massive improvement on having to rely on Spence.

Its better to have left footers at LB, and it means we have options at RB too (plenty of games where Spence would be preferable to Porro)

Its a free, as well.

If we get Robertson and Sensi we go from

Porro - Romero - VDV - Udogie
Spence - Danso - ..... - Spence
........... - Dragusin - ..... - .......

To

Porro - Romero - VDV - Udogie
Spence - Danso - Sensi - Robertson

We can sell Dragusin to add to the pot for more expensive attacking options.

Ive no idea if Souza is that good or not, but it also buys him a year for a loan, maybe he can come back into the squad next season if he develops
Yeah I get where you’re coming from.

I would assume, and hope, that the idea is to bring in Senesi and Robertson to strengthen the left side of defence, which has needed additions for years. Loan out Souza.
Then in an ideal world we raise probably 50/70 million from selling Romero and Dragusin. Bring in someone like Van Hecke to parter VDV as first choice, with Danso as backup RCB for another season and Vuskovic out on loan again.

Then the following summer, Souza comes back from loan to replace Robertson, Vuscovic comes back to replace Danso.

I wouldnt be against having a really good look at Vuskovic this summer, with a view to possibly selling Romero and bringing him into the fold.

Thats then 50-70m to go into the Attack/Midfield...

I believe Sensi can play on the right side (while predominantly left) and Danso has done well in Romeros absence (not incredible, but cant really fault him) - so Id be interested in looking at it as an option as well.

Bergvall needs a loan at a Hull or in Germany . No way do Bournemouth just accept him with a Europa campaign on the horizon. Be realistic.

Bergvall has lots of European experience, and would slot in to backfill Scott quite nicely - I dont think its a terrible idea at all

Although, Bournemouth being as organised as they are, probably have permanent options to come in for half of whatever Scott is sold for...

I dont think Udogie is that good.

Or just get a progressive passing mid, makes much more sense.
Yeah I like Scott, and Baleba has a lot of promise, but dear god we need to stop buying 8s ffs. Scott's better than what we've got but we already have like 5 players in his position. Meanwhile Baleba's yet another athetic runner rather than a passer.

We've got far bigger issues in the squad we need to fix first. An elite box-to-box mid should be bottom of the list of signings.

Barcelona spending big on Alvarez anx Gordon.

Anyone else think this makes Raphinha surplus to requirements?
We are in camp deluded if we really think Raphinha would move from being a starter at Barcelona to the 17th of the Premier League.

And no, Barcelona does not need to sell him. Alvarez and Gordon will replace Lewandowski and Rashford. They are probably paying less salary for the new guys so they are totally fine.

Any suggestions on players you think would be best? Baleba as dm and Scott as playmaker would be excellent imo. Biss, sarr and bergvall (loan) out would leave us with baleba/gray and scott/bents which i think is a great mix.
