They take up different roles, on the pitch and aside, you can not compare them.

MGW missed out because the team will be build around Rogers/ Bellingham, they are in his way.

Ok Wharton then. The point still stands, judging a player based on whether he was included in an International squad or not is nonsense.

This is the exact reason why for the last 3 seasons we've had loads of the fanbase overrating Romero because he won a world cup and plays regularly for Argentina, yet in the PL is a proven liability.

The inverse is true for Senesi. A proven CB who is arguably in the top 5 performing CBs in this league last season, who is actually delivering top class performances week in week out, and apparently some are downplaying his ability because he's not in the world cup squad.

Needs to be said again. We play in the PL, and I will take a player who performs in the PL every day over a player who doesn't perform in the PL but plays for their National Team. Spurs aren't playing in the world cup this summer.

Didn't Senesi play most games for Bournemouth last season, a high press team that finished 6th (their highest ever league position)?

Why are people making out like he would even dream of coming to the 17th placed team in the league to just sit on the bench like Dragusin did?

As others have said, I think he's coming to compete with VDV and based on what I've seen over the past couple of seasons I think it's a competition he might win.
I think he's quite two footed, so there's every chance he'll play on either side and he's probably a more well rounded CB than any we currently have, to be brutally honest.

Agree on that. Senesi sounds like a very sensible addition, especially for free.
Really hope we move Romero on and give Vuskovic now a shot to make the starting spot as RCB his. Danso provides good cover. I am sure Luka is more than ready to be trusted on.

Striker.

We need a striker worthy of the name.

That's where the most will be spent this summer, and rightly so.
There’s very few top 9s in football.

I mean I see some names suggested and talked about as if they are miles clear of Richarlison stats wise, and they just aren’t.

IMO the money has to be spent on the midfield and upping the technical level of the team.

Too many guys who aren’t brave on the ball and whose 2nd touch is a tackle polluting the squad.

Unless there’s a baby Berbatov that we can unearth then honestly, I’d like to see what Lankshear has to offer.

Honestly Im glad hes not in the Intl squad.

I fell out of love with Intl football years ago - and prioritise Spurs over it by miles

I am happy when our players get the summer off, ready to hit preseason with a vengeance.

2 left footed cb' are a rare occurrence because vast majority of players are right footed.

No reason why he can't and wont play next to vdv. A quick Google search shows 67% of teams play with 2 right footed cb's.

Doesn't matter anyway, he a fantastic cb that will improve the quality of our football.

I think RDZ wants two players of similar quality to rotate for each position hence x2 very decent LCBs no time to lose if Senesi is free.

We might be able to go full pelt for the domestic cups next season if we can make some upgrades and strengthen the squad, and still have a chance of Europa or Conference qualification due to league position.

I don't think it matters which LCB will be deemed as the best out of VdV and Senesi. Having no European football will give an advantage over the better sides in the league. RDZ just needs to rotate and keep them both happy. For us it's great news to have players competing for positions.

It's nothing to argue about, it's what we all want isn't it?

I think you want your CB's on their strongest foot purely for playing out purposes, I don't know how strong Senesi's right foot is but if he's as left footed as Micky then fielding both of them at the same time would be ugly.

It will be interesting to see what De Zerbi does though. Because I find it difficult to believe Senesi has chosen to come to us, apparently we've beaten off some stiff competition for him, to sit on our bench behind VDV. We have no European football either.

The reality is Senesi fits De Zerbi football much better than VDV does.

I just can't see Senesi coming here to sit on our bench, he's 29 at his peak.
