Rafa Rafa aint no way these boys are gonna be pinging balls to 'Gallagher' on the half turn only for him to lose the ball in our own half, allow it :D

He'd tell you he was reliable, and probably throbbing too - but he is a twitter BS merchant

Wharton would be a real statement buy, no doubt about it

And if he proved a good buy for us, an absolute gamechanger

I have to say though I have reservations on him (obviously should we get him - Id hope to be proven completley wrong)

Would 1000% prefer Anderson if we're playing fantasy football.

Wait.
Wtf?

Should it not be about buying the best fitting players?
Or is it all about money for you?

Your post seems to be hinting that if we sign Senesi (who seems to be very much EPL proven and have the skills that we really need) on a free transfer... is less "ambition" than buying Senesinho that has 5 years left on his deal with equal skillset and equal fit with 80 million euros?

I do not understand that at all.
I'd be over the fucking moon if we can identify 6 tehcnically brilliant players that RDZ wants that are all free agents/ 1 year left on contract.

What should matter is the impact to the squad quality + how they fit to RDZ plans. Not how much money we spend/waste.

No you misunderstand my point entirely.

I think it would be an excellent signing and smart business. But if all we do is wait for opportunities like expiring contracts or players out of favour then that is NOT matching the ambition of clubs who win titles.

I didn't say it wasn't smart or a good signing. I think it would be a great coup.

Ambition is something greater though.

If all youre defining ambition by is big bucks spending, then Ill have to disagree - theres a lot more to it than just spunking a wad of cash to appease the fans

Chances are we have a limited budget, or at least limited in terms of having enough to cover the amount of business we ideally need to do

Van Hecke, Roberson, Senesi in, Romero and Dragusin out = positive net spend = VERY smart business, and keeps our budget for the rest of the team.

And when you look at the ball progression Senesi and van Hecke offer - Id say it shows ambition - the way they are building the team (if this is indicative) is very exciting

No chance Newcastle sell Bruno to us. And unlikely he'd force a move to us either.

Newcastle have already sold Gordon and sounds like Tonali and Lew Hall could be sold too. They have a lot of money. They won't want to sell Bruno and especially to a direct rival like us.

I'd rate this move as close to impossible. Paper talk. Non-runner

Ah i just checked the source. @Allthings__THFC. Another account I've blocked so must be notorious for being unreliable.

It is a rubbish source and I'd encourage others to block that account just so we can dilute the rubbish rumours on here. Nice to stick to reality and only discuss possible targets.

Odobert is young and should be back in good shape for second half of season.
The other 2 who knows, in the hands of our world class medical and physio department to see how much of the season they'll be available for

Projections:

Odo: back in Jan in time for a loan still rusty.
Kulu: little hope.
Kudus: Up to speed by Jan.
Xavi: Assume Mar/Apr

Really only leaves us Tel & a physically curious Maddison for this season (potentially) + a few months of Kudus.

Ergo need significant recruitment now.

- Akliouche is a no brainer to cover both RW & CAM.
- Ideal world; + Sav (eg) and another winger on top.

26/27 season mainstays: Kudus, Sav, Xavi, Akliouche + 2 & sell whoever no longer makes the grade.

I am still not very sure I did.

Cause we are on 4th of June and seems that we have identified 3 players that are both - technically good and fitting + either contract expired or are going into last year.

So what I tried to say that until the first criteria is met, I'm loving it. And I do find it ambitious as well.
So also after your reply I fail to see then what you meant originally.

Not that I am against of signing Van Hecke, but we are strenghtening a defence that is already quite good. Were does that leave the midfield and attack? And what does it mean for Vuscovic (ready to play his part IMO). Will we spend a lot of money on Van Hecke only to find out that Vuscovic s as good and that money could have been spend on midfield/attack.

Certainly Romero and Dragusin are off. What about Danso? He off too or do we send Vuscovic on loan, which would be mistake IMO. Vuscovic needs to start to feel like a Yiddo or he will definitely be off within a year.
I think Danso is off too. I got a feeling it be Heck and Vuskovic at RCB.

Would be a dream pairing.
