There’s all this talk of signing a progressive passer/deep lying playmaker, but when you look at De Zerbi’s teams, none of them seem to play with a player that’s sole role is that, he seems to prefer a busy, more dynamic runner alongside a holding midfielder. With Palhinha seemingly coming back, I would think he’ll want more of a Baleba or Kone type midfielder with legs to partner Bentancur or Palhinha than a Wharton or Stiller type who are more static.

He is a good player.

All others I agree with.

But why in the world MGW?!
For no 10 we have Madders, Kulu, Xavi (!). Bergvall can play there and pretty sure this will be a best position for Moore in the future.

But in your list there is no ST.
Not a deeper CM player to make our ball progression faster.

I really think it is time to let go "the players we chased but could not close" and actually go by the squad needs.

I am not saying that MGW would not be useful player. But this would be 100% luxury signing when essentials are missing. It is basically putting in a diamond gear shift knob to your car... While your tires are totally slick and one of the wheels has been hit to curb and starts to vibrate over speed of 40 km/h.
Luxury? He grafts and presses and scores and creates goals. If there’s any chance of getting him, push that overrated blonde backheeler out the door, and Kulu and Xavi are unlikely to be seen again. Whilst I agree about needing a CM passer, I think Senesi and VH will help and the system will become far more structured to play. If Maddison is wide left and MGW central, you’ve got two players that demand the ball and take it under pressure. Agree on a 9 too but perhaps we stick with Solanke if bringing in say MGW and Sav

I’d love MGW, I think he’s top level, but what would Forest want for him? £60m obviously wasn’t to their liking last summer. Surely he had a release clause inserted into the new deal he signed last summer?

We need a midfield that can progress the ball, Baleba with Bentancur wouldn't work.

Ali Gold said we are after a ball progresser, seems like De Zerbi himself knows we need one as well

Dragusin is a very decent CB defensively, just not good at passing out from the back.

Happy if Paratici wants to bid 30m+ as he'll get good, more experienced than when he arrived at Spurs, CB ideal for Italian league, whilst Spurs at least recovers his initial cost to help our squad rebuild where every extra million will count.
It would constitute the best bit of businessl Paratici ever did for Spurs!!

In that universe? He has had zero international impact. 0 goals 0 assists at the 2024 Euros. His CL record is ok but not exceptional, and whilst his serie a record is very good, it’s serie fucking A.

He at best was Rashford level. Without the top level CL impact, and Rashford had a better international record too.

He’s always been potential. Very fun to watch but insanely lazy with decent production but not enough to make up for that. At no point has he been one of the very best players.
Yup.

Fuck Leao.

And fuck Savinho.

We've already got plenty shite wingers in Kudus, Odobert, Tel...

Harry Kane in a WC year.
Football coming home.
Kane coming home.

I mean, it fucking unlikely, but if these idiots in charge want to prove they're serious, that's the one, isn't it?
You get one of the best forwards ever born. Guaranteed goals for years.
Unrivalled loyalty.
Probably a coach one day too.

Only got a year left. £80m should do it.
If I bought a sports car, ran it for 3 years and sold it for about what I paid for it, I'd be made up.

Clear throat.
Engage Arnie voice.
What are you waiting for, do it, do it now!

I thought Kane was signing a new contract in Munich. He loves it there. I very much doubt he’s coming back to England except for one last swan song when he’s 35 plus years of age.
