You don’t have to be to understand the basic concept that the pie is finite and the more we spend on one player then the less we get to spend on other bright, shiny things.

Most normal clubs would do what we are doing. Just look at what Woolwich did with Saliba. He had 3 loans before he was deemed ready to play in the PL.

Perfectly understandable that we prefer to replace Romero with a proven PL player instead of a prospect. Vuskovic is 19 and he’s played one great season at a small team in a weak league.

Most clubs would want him to repeat the trick at a higher level before they entrust their PL season to him. If we keep him and it turns out he isn’t ready then we’ve wasted another season.

Don’t pay him what he’s on as it causes problems with other players. Make him our top earner certainly but on far less money. Instead he gets a nice fat signing on fee to make up the difference.

We need to find a good move for him though, one of the promoted clubs I'm sure would take him on...would love to see him at Ipswich under McKenna

I’m not sure I’m following your point. To be clear, you’re saying we should use Vuskovic to replace Romero, even if he’s not ready, then spend the budget elsewhere?

What if he’s not ready though?
 
Will we get a headline signing ( will enic be brave enough )
We have finished 17th two seasons running
This must have damaged things
Plus years of levy being in charge of negotiations
Who ever we sign, I’m convinced, it will split opinion
