Completely agree re Naybey too. Lewis Dunk as an example - although I guess he would be pricey
Just signed new contract until 2026 but would have been ideal, yeah.

Lol Levy is not going to listen him, he does the same thing to every manager, the season will start with a partially rebuilt squad as always.Definitely a concern. Suspect Ange asked to take a look at all the players and will make quick decisions and tell Levy to action
Sounds like he’s going to be pretty ruthless gutting the squad (if levy doesn’t fuck him over of course).
Some of it I had identified early on. I don't think it's any secret about some of the areas we needed to strengthen. The goalkeeper was one and central defence is another," he said.
"In terms of the other boys, we've got a big squad but my view is I wanted to bring them along and just work with them and get some clarity in my head and give clarity to them because I think you'll find that a lot of them will say 'to be honest it's not for me, the way we're playing and the way we're training', because like I say I do things differently.
"Every day we have together, every game like last night, it gives you clarity about certain things and there's no doubt that the squad will be whittled down and there will be some more changes between now and probably the end of the transfer window."
Should have signed Tarkowski. A leader.I've never understood why we don't aim to sign more experienced (29yr+) CB's to fit into the team rather than trying to find the next big thing in the 18-23 bracket. There are plenty of seasoned pro's who can play as a solid CB partner for our more unpredictable defensive talents and teach them a few tricks. I remember seeing Noureddine Naybet join us for a couple of seasons as a 33yr old and watching him alongside Ledley he displayed a number of the 'dark arts' that we really miss from our traditional CB choices and made King a more effective defender in the process.
I think you could also have said the same about Edgar Davids who joined us towards the end of his career but brought a cutting edge and aggression missing from our midfield play at the time. Unfortunately it seemed like his engine started to fade midway through his 2nd season.
Not 100% but I think because Phillips was born on 26th June, I think he should be able to become Club-trained provided we don't loan him out because he'll have 3 full seasonsPlayers need to be at their clubs 3years before 21 to be CT…
He can only ever be HG (Phillips).
He's definitely not coming to play 1st team football, yet.Look at his record, he brings young ones along.
There is a reason why we are buying this guy and it must have been sanctioned by the manager.
Great we are already planning to park and stall the players development...Not 100% but I think because Phillips was born on 26th June, I think he should be able to become Club-trained provided we don't loan him out because he'll have 3 full seasonsSpursidol

A "club-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a period starting with the first official match of the relevant national championship and ending with the last official match of that relevant national championship) or of 36 months. In the context of this paragraph, the season immediately preceding a player’s 15th birthday may be counted if his birthday is after the last match of the relevant national championship but before or on 30 June (winter championships) or 31 December (summer championships), and the season immediately following his 21st birthday may be counted if his birthday is on or after 1 July (winter championships) or 1 January (summer championships) but before the first match of the relevant national championship.

Fair point.
Ndombele and Lo Celso although younger were pretty established. Holberg love him or hate him was established... Then probably back to Soldado.

Not a great record.
Sissoko, Alderweireld, Llorente, Moura, Wanyama, Bale, Doherty, Richarlison, Perisic, Bissouma
All of the ones that were good enoughAnge isn't especially known for bringing through young players? which ones came through at Celtic?
names?
It’s called italics mate, but if that’s how it makes sense in your little world then by all means….

Nope. Been there and done that. (Champo wouldn't be worthwhile either)
GLC, Ndombele, PEH, Devine (loan) should be the potential out list at CM.
