There is one other man who has been in Kane's situation - the late Sir Stanley Matthews.
Arguably the greatest player this country has ever produced. His only trophy was the 1953 FA Cup which he won with Blackpool at the age of 38. This was a man who suffered much misfortune in his playing career. His peak fitness years were lost to WWII and there were two cup final defeats with Blackpool before he won the Stanley Matthews Final by creating 3 goals in the last 25 minutes to bring Blackpool back from 3-1 down.
